hopefully some people check into this thread alittle bit. but ive been doing some thinking here tonight and am looking at picking up a block with crank, pistons, rods, all in it. i have a spare cyilnder head too. would it be too terribly hard to build a motor up from scratch and make it all work? i figure taht if u have most of the internals, all ud have to do is send it to the machine shop and get her put all nice and start from the ground up. might be cheaper in the long run. im just looking for another 7m-gte to have just incase mine poops on me... ideas?

Looking good sir. If you have a motor to rebuild and you have the money to rebuild it, then it would be a great idea to do. Once you get it built, you could swap the motors out and sell or rebuild the old one. Good luck either way.

Looking good. It's not about the money, it's about the pride and care you give your car. I would rather see a young guy who takes care of and appreciates his MKIII rather than a spoiled brat whose parents bought him an MKIV.

hah. thanks for the advice. i scrapped the idea of building up a spare motor until i have the money for the FULL build. for now ill just keep maintaining this one. i need to pay for school, the car itself, and the girlfriend/wife :D ...lol... jokez.

thanks for the input so far. ill have more updates here in a week when i get my guage pod and other little goodies. should be fixing a front main seal leak soon too.

You really *should* blur the tag number out in post #22.
That is unless you want the whole planet (including thieves) to know where your Supra is ;)

oohhh boy...here we go with the engine recommendations. This might turn into another "battle of the engines"

It really depends on your purposes and which engine you prefer (for looks, performance, feel, etc)

We all know any Supra engine you choose is a nice engine.
