The other thing I decided to do was mount up the new motor mounts.

Compliments of Fred! :)

I accomplished a few other things today as well. I got all the paint stripped off my valve covers using some spray on paint stripper. It worked great!

I also made it down to Autozone and picked up a TON of vac line. I actually tapped out their stock! :biglaugh:

I have been off work for 17 days and am dreading going to back to work on Monday. I have had a great time working on the Soup! :)

Thanks for the 2jz motor mount tip. I'll file that one away...

Yeah, I was just getting things ready for work tomorrow and it actually took me a second to remember how to set my alarm clock. I guess that's a good thing! :biglaugh:

Oh yeah...I'm pretty much married to the 7M. I have four complete 7MGTE's so I won't be going jz for a loooooooong time! If ever! ;)

Didn't get a lot of time out there this evening... :(

My Lipp Stainless Mirror Finish center galley cover showed up from SupraSport last week so I went ahead and installed that. It's hard to tell from the pic; but, it really does look like a mirror.

I stopped by my buddy's shop this evening to pick up some 2000 Camry Schematics and he told me that my tranny should be done tomorrow. Woo Hoo!!!

Hopefully, I'll be able to make it by there tomorrow before he get's it all buttoned up so I can get some pics of the Marlin Crawler parts installed.

Something else I started today was disassembling my Alternator. I decided to paint the housing Flat Black. I'm hoping to have that done before the weekend is out!

Stay tuned... :)

Great build Kenny. I'm anxious to see the pics of the tranny. I didn't see if you already replaced the leaking rear main. If you've done so already, what steps/tools did you use? Going to replace that on my replacement motor.

Keep it up the great work!

Thanks Ron! :)

I did already replace the rear main. I did not post pics of that process. Sorry. I didn't even take pics of the newly installed seal because I had to take it off the stand to do it and when it was done, I put it right back on to the stand. I'll take a pic of it when I get to mounting the Flywheel, Clutch, and Tranny.

Replacing the rear main is pretty straight forward. If you're replacing it while the rear oil seal retainer is on the engine, you'll want to go buy a seal puller. Harbor Freight has them cheap! Using one of those will make your life easy. Then when you're installing the new one, grease the seal and make sure it goes in straight.

If you're removing the rear oil seal retainer, you can easily knock out the old one with a flat blade screw driver and hammer.

Which ever route you choose, don't force anything and keep an eye on the inner part of the seal. Make sure it doesn't fold or flip. Take your time and apply steady straight pressure and you'll be fine. :)

You requested tranny pics!? Here they come! :)

My buddy called me today and told me to come down and take my last look of the tranny opened up because he's going to button it up tomorrow!

Here are pics of the Marlin Crawler Chromolly Bearing Plate installed. Take note to the engraving. If someone tells you they've got a MC Bearing Plate and it doesn't have engraving like this on it, they're wrong...

The same thing goes for the shift fork. Here is an MC 7071 Billet Aluminum 1 to 2 shift fork. Mmmmm.....looks pretty! :)

And here you can see a comparison between the Marlin Crawler and the stocker...

And here's a full assembly shot...

Man that's a beautiful site to behold. Good for you, those parts look great and should make a difference. Keep up the great work you're doing, I use your build a lot for site references.

Excellent info Kenny. Thanks very much. I think I'll be removing the retainer so hopefully it should be pretty straight forward. I will definitely take my time with it. Thanks again.

Those pics are awesome. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the rest of it.

Thanks Fred! Yeah, it does look pretty cool. He told me that it was a good thing to take the extra step and replace the needle bearings. Before rebuild measurements were on the border of spec on the loose end. After all new parts along with the needle bearings I had to get from Toyota, all measurements were right in the middle of Toyota Spec. So if/when you rebuild yours, go the extra mile and have the needle bearings replaced.

Getting closer... :)

Sure thing Ron. Thanks for stopping by and complimenting.

You probably already know this; but, I retrieved a link for you. It may come in handy! ;)

Here are some injector goodies that arrived from Driftmotion. (not the injectors, just the o'rings and insulators)

p1486416_1.jpg

And here they are installed in the rail and eventually on to the head.

Then I busted a knuckle pretty good so I decided to end the evening by replacing part of the power steering 'up' idle vac line.
