Tonight was mainly just a cleaning night. I got a lot of brackets, braces, and such cleaned up. I also sprayed the block down with Gunk and Brake Clean. Yep, it removed everything including the paint. Oh well...at least it's clean now... :)

He he...yeah, it's an easy mistake to make! At least we're man enough to admit it! :biglaugh:

Oh yeah, I'm sure our paths will cross. I'll be headed to Portland in the spring and of course heading to the Centralia meet too! If you're ever out this way, let me know and we'll do lunch or something!

what all mods did you have to hit the 294 untuned? and at what PSI

Fidanza 11lb Flywheel
20g Turbo
Carter IC
2" Hardpipe
HKS SuperDragger w/o cat
Downpipe
Fan/Fan Clutch Delete (replaced with Flex-A-Lites)
K&N Fipk

There was other stuff too; but, those are the ones that count. ;)

I had a little more room with my afr's to make more power; but, I didn't want to push it. I could've made about 310.

At this point, she's starting to look more like a complete engine again.

The rear main seal is in along with the rear timing cover seals. Everything has been torq'd to TSRM Spec and Toyota FIPG used.

Here's a couple shots showing off the newly painted oil pan. You may notice that it's a different shade of blue than in the previous pics. After seeing what 'Ford Blue' looked like, I decided to repaint it 'Old Ford Blue'. It's a bit darker. Me likes better!

Here's a shot of the Oil Filter Relocation Flange.

I haven't decided where I'm going to mount the filter yet though.

At this point, I am going to tackle the valve stem seals. I ordered them Monday and they arrived yesterday. I just haven't made it in to town to pick them up yet. Maybe tomorrow...

My tranny has been way laid by a broken bearing. Upon install, the inner race broke. The replacement is scheduled to arrive via UPS tomorrow. I'll pick up that and the valve stem seals in the morning.

Which will be Christmas Eve. Yah!!!!!! :)

Good progress. The "old Ford blue" is darker and closer to the valve covers.
Should get them out to you today or monday. 20" of snow here last weekend has slowed things down this week. Thru in a few other pieces as well-Merry Christmas.

Yeah, that much snow tends to slow things down for sure! I appreciate you getting that stuff out to me and helping me out along the way. :)

Merry Christmas Fred!

Here's a shot of all my cam saddles. This is after only around 6k miles. Not too bad; but, worse than I'd hoped to see.

Here's setup to the block. I chose to use air instead of rope.

I set the cylinder that I was working on to TDC then secured the rotating assembly with a wrench so it wouldn't rotate and suck in a valve.

p1479230_1.jpg

Using a hose from my compression tester kit, I pressurized each cylinder to ~30psi to keep the valves from falling in to the combustion chamber.

Everything worked like a champ!

Here's a disassembled upper valve assembly. Note the two small keepers on the right. Don't lose those!

Here's a nasty old valve stem seal.

Here's a new valve stem seal installed.

Hmm...I think you have me confused with someone else. I've never done a rack. I once dropped the subframe to replace bearings. Could that be what you're remembering?

Sorry... :(
