If I were to do it again, I would try to get a piping kit with just the nipple for the factory BOV, and go with a bosch BPV, OR have a shop weld in a flange for a BOV in a much better location than where it is when it comes from CX racing.

yep, I had mine made specifically for the HKS BOV, but its also made for when I go standalone. Its in an area where it turns 90 degrees and uses a very small tube to vent into the accordion hose again. I will take pics when the snow stops.

This seems like it would be the way to go, just gotta find the piping kit now that doesn't already have the the flange already installed...

Been a few days since updating!

I seem to have developed a leak in the brake system. The leak appeared one day as I was driving down a hill and applying easy pressure when the pedal wasn't holding pressure and sinking towards the floor. Checked all four connections at the wheels. I didn't see any fluid around the MC but I've heard they develop leaks inside sometimes so I ordered a brand new MC from DM along with a couple other goodies including a new 02 sensor and a 3" graphite exhaust gasket for the cheapo cardboard one that's in there currently. I'll be changing the Master cylinder and exhaust gasket this weekend if I have a chance.

The 02 sensor was butchered pretty bad so shelling out a few bucks for a new one was well worth it. After replacing it, the car seemed to idle much better, I think there were a few missed connections there.

and the goods!

Ronnie K really makes some damn good quality bushings. Thanks a truck load Ronnie!

Been amassing some parts and making sure everything I need and will be installed correctly the first time so I won't have any problems upon start up.

That being said here are some pics of the latest updates!

The goodies!

From a GS300 for the coil on plug mod:

Lexus V8 AFM

RX high impedance 550s

SAFC2

And finally the adjustable fuel pressure regulator kit from driftmotion

Installing these things I decided to get some new spark plugs as I'm not sure when the ones that were in it were changed last. The car was running just fine with the old ones but while I have the intake and intercooler piping all taken apart might as well replace 'em!

I snapped a couple pics of my turbo since I've had a few people ask what kind of turbo I was running and I felt like a dummy for not knowing. I wanna say the PO told me it was a 57 trim but it's been awhile since he told me and I've forgotten at this point. Correct me if I'm wrong but 57 trim just refers to the compressor wheel size right? So in theory, I should be able to throw a measuring device on the ID of the turbo intake and get somewhere around 57mm!

Here's the promised pics:

Kinda blurry, sorry!

Next I'm going back to the fuel side of the lexus/550 mod. The injectors are high impedance so I need to eliminate the resistor pack!

Here:

and tie all four of the wires together as one big happy family of... well four wires.

And for my last trick, I'll be extending my coil harness for the C.O.P. mod the only problem here is when your existing harness is 25+ years old, the wires don't like to be soldered together even with new wire... So I ended up ordering a new harness from DM today and should be here early next week I'm hoping!

I'll be taking a few pics of the work so far and you guys can critique! Thanks for looking!

The 550s that I installed are high impedance which is fine as long as you remove the resistor pack from the mix. From what I understand, there are only 1 year ('87 iirc) of RX7 550cc injectors that are plug and play and low impedance and considering that the RX7s only used 2 of these per car, these particular 550s are extremely rare. The rest of the 550s in the RX7s were high impedance. Also I believe it was only the first half of that year that the low impedance injectors were put into the RX7s.

Box in my mail box today gave me something to do tonight. The coil harness I ordered from DM showed up and immediately got cut apart and extended and then installed. The harness was the last thing I was waiting for to put the car back together from tearing out the stock injectors, AFM and FPR to install the aftermarket stuff.

After a few turns of the key to fill the fuel rail again she started right up and it was heavenly! I haven't heard that sound in over a week since I pulled her apart, though this time it was a little different... she's running SUPER rich and the idle was crap. Playing with the fuel pressure didn't seem to help much either, pressures ranging from 27-28psi up to 36-38psi the car still idled with my wideband reading 17.5ish to 18. 18 being the max reading on my AEM gauge. Bottom line I need to install the SAFC2 that's sitting beside me collecting dust and tune that damn car.

That being said, I've run out of time and patience for that tonight but did manage to snap a few pics for the car porn club here on the SM forums.

On to the porn!
