I dunno man... if that's the case Why did you need his block off plate to come up with your design? You can say you hired Moses to take it Mount Sinai and God carved it out for him with a bolt of lightning.... but I'm sure having Duane's part in your hands helped you tremendously.

It's really not even about that anyways.

You don't launch a product towards a community, and launch an attach on one of the most prominent members of it's community at the same time. That just makes poor sense, especially business-wise. Being business owner myself I would never do such a thing.

Just my 2c.

Once again, you do not have all the details behind the scenes and the fact that I had Duane's blockoff plate would make sense to me since I had his car too. That's all I am going to comment on this issue though. If you want one, let me know, if you don't that is fine, it makes no difference to me. Pictures will be posted next week some time.

CFX:love: and Jawsgear:love: I will be buying my carbon related products from one and drivetrain from another. the fact that they both will have a block off plate out of different materials should be a non issue. Im sure the competition on this item will have zero affect on Duanes buisness or sales of his IC block offs. If someone wants a carbon one they will buy it regardless of the aluminum one being available. On another note, what will the pricing be on the driveshaft loop. I will be buying one of your driveshafts before vegas rolls around and would probably take one of those at the same time.

Okay, the CAD drawings are done. We have made several changes, tighten areas up and open up clearances that were a little too tight of a fit. We have added a rubber molding to the inner edge to help protect the paint jobs a little better. Any suggestions let me know. We are planning on starting production of the actual sample at the begining of the week.

Thanks,

Jeff

PS: I will post shot of Cad Drawing and what the finished product will look like after I grab a bite to eat. Give me a couple hours.

Pics look good. Will the plate need any notches at the front like the YSR one? I know my current plate needed one small notch at the front end of the plate at the center or slightly off center.

We looked at that as well. It is not 100% necessary as it holds the piece in place tighter but we will most likely put a small notch in it though. We have not decided.

Pretty much every plate will look like that unless our engine bays magicaly reconfigure each time a plate is made.

When I made my first one back in 2000, the two adjuster holes were just a single oval. Other than that, it looks exactly the same. So does that mean you copied me? Mine kinda looked like the YSR block off plate that was made in the damn mid 90s. Does that mean everything since then has been a copy of that?

The cosworths and GNs have been running block off plates since the 80s. I guess we are just copying them too.

News flash to everyone on this thread. There isn't an orginal item made by anyone for this car. Everything is a copy of something else. Any part that performes the same function on the same car will look the same. That's why HKS, APEX-I, Silkroad, Tein, etc coilvers all look exactly the same. It's why the CFX plate looks like a copy of the YSR plate that's been out for over a decade. Get over it.

This community is so fucking backwards when it comes to aftermarket support. "I hate you for making new stuff!!!!" Jesus...

Looks just like mine and I guess I knew it would eventually get copied. Oh well.
Did you send my carbon fibre block off plate up yet Jeff?

Thanks

Duane

Yes, yours has like I told you it would. Maybe I should cut a big huge smiley in the middle where the hood latch goes. Different enough for everyone?:biglaugh:

Just to show we are not just a bunch of copy cats, here is another little project that we have been working on.

This is for all those people tired of cracking/breaking subframes.

We sincerely want to HELP BUILD MKIII OPTIONS for parts.

Enjoy, details will be updated as they are available.

Peace & Love
