blew up my one jay, may be out of the game... input appreciated

ahh... its been a long journey i've had with the supra. i've had 5 mk3's since i was 17 (now i'm 23). the last 3 carried my 1jz in them, the last two were swapped in by myself, and i now currently sit with a blown motor in a pretty nice super white 91 sunroof with full recaro and a whole mess of other mods. i dont know what to do, maybe you can give me some advice.

option 1: fix it. buy a new shortblock 1jz, swap everything else onto it, and drop it in. plus go single (my twins were starting to go bad anyway) i'm estimating around $2000 cost to go this route, and i'll have a healthy 500hp supra

option 2: sell as is, or part it out. i've got 4 years worth of accumulated parts on this car that i know are worth money. i still owe the bank about 2000 for the car loan, and i have some credit card debt on the side. i really dont feel i should be putting a whole lot more money into the car, at least not til i get my finances in better order.

here's a list of parts it has, you tell me if its worth holding onto and making into a dream car or cutting my losses and getting out of it what i can.
-91 super white sunroof shell (complete)
- has minor body damage to right front fender and right rear corner panel
-tein ha coilovers
-enkei racing 7 spoke two piece forged aluminum wheels, 17x8 and 17x9, +35 each
- yokohama avs es100 tires still good, 245x40x17 and 275x40x17
-jdm tail lights, fog lights, euro front corners, one off bomex two hole carbon fiber front lip
-jdm recaro interior (front and rear seats, and all door inserts, condition about (7/10), facroty jdm momo steering wheel, trd shift knob, aem wideband gauge, greddy boost gauge, e-manage, e-01
-4.30 lsd, r154, 1jz bellhousing, 1jzgte, china y-pipe, downpipe, hks hi power cat back, custom aluminum ic pipes, ebay 12x28x3 front mount, arc bov, 2j cams, map sensor and injectors, dei cryo2 sprayer, koyo radiator

there may be more, but that's most of the basics... what do you think?

I would personally keep it but if you decide to part it I would be very interested in your intercooler pipes and intercooler, lmk, thanks.

That's the normal depression from a blown engine speaking. You really need to ask yourself, what do you want to be driving? What else can you buy that will fit your requirements? If it's a fast sporty car, think about it - there is no way you can buy one of those for the $5k it will cost to make yours work, and work WELL.

Can you get some money back from your parts list? Sure... but not what you have into it, that's for sure. So, was it worth buying them in the first place? Up to you.

I've seen folks in your position go both routes... sell it and buy a new Honda, or keep it and make it better. So far most of the folks I know who have kept the car have been the happier group. I don't know anyone who has gone for the new car and still been driving it 4 years later.
