anyone using a Holset HX-35 from a 94-02 Dodge Ram Diesel?

I might give this turbo a try with the stock 48mm intake wheel first and see how it works, but it still is a little mismatched with the exhaust wheel. I'll post pics of the turbo when i receive it next week.

Have you used one with these wheel sizes?

when did the HX35 become a 48mm wheel? i thought it was a 52mm inducer? that turbo you have sounds like the one thats on my truck, with the 12cm housing and all...

what do you say john? im gonna pm you...

i think ive decided that im going use Later Holsets from either 03-04 Dodge diesels or some from 04.5-07 dodge diesels.

they are supposed to be an HX/HY35 class turbo, just different peripherals. the wheels are alleged to be the same so they SHOULD have similar power potential. so, after that, im going shopping for some HE341's or HE351's. id like to keep them internally gated but i would need to get much softer WG actuators. i think the stock ones are for 30psi. or 28psi ish... 3.0PR according to Holset's article.

Soon, I am saving up my cash right now, as I need to get everything installed, and some things welded up. Give me about a month, and I will have a graph for you guys.
BTW, does a -3AN feed without a restrictor sound about right?, or is that still too much oil?

It probably will still smoke on start up with a -3an fitting. I am still trying to fix this problem on my holset but no success yet. I have a -4an fitting and -10an return btw still smokes when cold.

i have a huge air filter. the BHAF mod. its bigger than a gallon jug. its a 4" turbo back, no cat and no muffler. the turbo feels like new; very tight. i also have a modified #100 fuel plate... since mine is a 12valve. i cant use programmers.

btw, i found an H1E for $500, a new HX40 and a new HX35 for under $400 i think. i also found used BD Super B turbos which are modified HX35's using Borg 61mm wheels, or 62mm. i cant remember. whats the deal w/ an H1E? im not familiar with those...

I don't know how many pounds Im running cause i just wrap my boost gauge.

I have he same problem; my boost gauge doesn't go high enough and it's a 30psi unit. I think I broke It too, it doesn't rest at 0 anymore. I really want new gov springs too. That's all it really needs to haul serious ass. Anything else will require alot more work like a turbo, injectors, dv's, studs, and so on. The next level is a big step. It should be in the 14s easily as it sits, which is pretty serious for a 6000lb truck.

What year is your truck anyways?
