hey figgie just curious, what did the conversion cost you? or what would it cost someone at today's price to convert?

what kind of hp are you generating? does it detract anything from performance? ie. could you build a 500hp E85 supra?

something I never do is state how much I paid for something or a project. What I can tell you is that it is not by any means cheap for just running e-85 normally and if high HP is the goal , most of the typical cheap MKIII owners would have cadiac for what it cost me.

Performance, I never dyno. Just what I tune on the street (thanks rural paved roads!). As for 500hp... i can flow enough fuel for 1000hp on e85, 2000 hp on c16. Ought to tell you the fuel pump I am running.

BTW

my quick write up of all that is needed. :)

At least you have hair, IJ! BTW...if you hooked up a grill in the back of your Supra, you could be the most popular tail-gater at matches (games for the US folk!). It's not just a car, it's a grill!:)

I can understand that, but do you think you would be able to give just a range what it would cost doing it from the "economy" way vs. "high performance" setup?

I just want to get an idea of what I would be looking to spend to do this, both from the low end entry stuff all the way to the best components around, you don't have to say what it cost you specifically.

And I am by no means cheap ;) For the past 8 months I've averaged about $1500/mo on my supra. This month and next will be no different! :evil2:

does the turbo still spool up fine using alky? i know it runs alot cooler all around. another thing i was thinking about was the O2 sensor. you would have to get some kinda diff setup for that right?

ok, what is E-85?
ethanol and fuel mixture containing 85 percent ethanol and the rest fuel. Some newer american cars have them as a factory optiomn and its catchign on. e-85 is avail at gas stations in the US and soon to be up north. You dont always have to run e-85 though, its an option of that or pure fuel. And i want to be the 2nd person to have this system as soon as i see e-85 popping up around here.

o2 sensors dont care what gas you use, it measures the difference between the ambient o2% and the o2% in your exhuast which creates a small voltage (the richer it is the higher the voltage). Not sure that the alcohol itself would damage the o2 sensor. As long as just co, hc, nox, co2 and o2 come out of your tailpipe you should be good!

now if you were running a maf-t pro with all the mods needed for the e85 setup. would you be able to switch back and forth between the two fuels by using different maps? b/c if i ever planned to go on a long road trip i know i would have to use reg gas since most places still dont carry the product. is this possible or am i way in left field?

Hey Ian i have some questions regarding LPG, where do you get your tank filled? Are there kits to convert, and do you think that it was worth it? With gas prices now, i am debating whether i should go along these lines.

I come from a land down under
SS91: Here in Australia LPG is at just about every service station.

There aren't any Supra specific kits that I know of and yes it's well worth the conversion!

An average install will take about 40.000 KMs/25.000 miles to pay itself off in fuel savings (these days probably half that with gas prices where they are)

Did you look at the seqential LPG injection systems? I also noticed that most of the system I have seen use engine coolant to vaporize the LPG, seems that on a turbo system spraying liquid propane might make sense in that the fuel will vaporize in the intake and cool the charge.

i am going to be in the process of upgrading my fuel system within the near future. at the same time i will be installing a maf-t pro. would it be worth the extra cost to go ahead and make my fuel system e85 capable? i am already planning on pump, lines, fpr, injectors, and fuel rail. from readin it seem like those are pretty much all you gotta change in order to run e85. i am trying to get all this figured out before i go spend money on stuff then turn around and want to run alchy. what do you all think?

I hope you saw the price of fuel pumps for running high hp. It is not cheap by any stretch of the imgination!

this is a good question, could some one awnser it?

if so all i would have to do is replace my fuel lines, new pump, injectors i was going to upgrade any ways.. and anodize some stuff..
