Advantage/Disadvantages of moving the radiator to the back?

Even if it was just cutting out the red area between the frame rails?

I only plan on removing the floor pan and eventually the car will have a full cage. I think I can make up for removing the floor by adding a bar or two.

Where are you getting 20mm, the stock hose I measure was only a little more than 8mm across.

Anyways Ill just run them along the passenger side floor up to where the stock heater lines came into the car, drill the whole out, then run them to the engine. Anything wrong with that? :icon_conf

I'll bet you your car it isn't. it *Might* be the thickness of the hose wall, but the hose diameter is NOT 8mm. And IJ, for a 25mm od that'd be a 2.5mm wall thickness- shouldn't he go considerably thicker than that (assuming rubber hose and not braided) especially if he's going to be racing it? Thats a lot of fluid being exposed to a lot of potential damaging items.

I'd be plumbing something like that in hardline not rubber but my point was there is NOWHERE under an a70 chassis to run 2 lines that size.......

Running through the car is totally unacceptable.

Yes, and I misread my tape measurer. The total lenth of the tape measurer is 7.5m and has that printed just above where I was reading the diameter. I took it for 7.5mm.

Hey man i know its bad when IJ starts giving you flack but in all honestly. If you have a shell that is ready to be tested w/ i say go for it. Im just interested in seeing it done.

But i'd address this issue first ^

It may not be the most cost effective move of the century but the things your going to overcome in the process of this project will answer other questions or pave the way for OTHER ideas.

Go for it man, like the guy that made the 240 it shouldnt cost you much. if i remember correctly he was the biggest underdog w/ the smallest budget relying mainly on 2nd hand parts to create that thing.

Based upon what I have read in this thread, you're going to want to keep those lines outside the cabin so when (not if) they blow, you won't be sprayed with 180F coolant.

Denied.

Nascar prohibits engine cooling lines inside the cockpit due the possibility of burns.

Furthermore, you must make the firewall (both front and rear) as solid as possible.

You never want hot liquid inside the car near you. You also do not want fuel lines inside the car with you, unless you are wearing fire resistant clothing at all times.

Try 210 deg.....

Edit, just looked at Dent Sport Garage's website.

All I can say is, YIKES. (Welding and the whole well uh yeah)

On the road course, realistically about 230. Regardless this is one of the worst ideas I've seen in a long time... The return on investment is minimal, it's functionally inferior and a maintainence and upkeep nightmare, IMO.

But to each his own... Not my ride, not my call.

lol, sorry guys....either way, I wouldn't want to be sprayed with hot coolant, nor would I want that extra turbulence within the cabin...
