A few years Ago I had a 87MKiii turbo. I know the turbo model is the only one that came with ABS for that year. An unfortunate rain storm on the miami highways caused me my car when I hydroplane @ about 45mph.. Yes I know weird .. Yes I was driving slow. Any-who Lost control of car did a turn a bit more than a 180 Degree and crashed in reverse on to the guard rail, I total the car and sold in parts. I currently have another 87 same color guess it was meant to be but N/A 5sp. It was a gift from My uncle, who knows I fell in love with this fine ass bitch named SUPRA. Now I've looking and comparing part on my car and another that rest @ the J/Y with a ABS equip. Is it possible to adapt the ABS to a N/A model. That's including I get the brake lines calipers ABS computer and ABS motor assist. Is that it? or is there more that meets the eye?

^ I think the tranny had a little metal cap(kind of like a the freeze plugs on the engine block) for the speed sensor. Also yes it is possible to convert the car from non a.b.s. to a.b.s. You will need some more brake lines, ABS pump, ABS computer, and maybe a few other items.

Youll also need the wheel hub assembly. It has the stuff for the ABS speed sensors.

I'm sure its possible to drill a hole for the ABS sensor. It'd probally be easier to just swap the rear half of the transmission case though IMO.

i bought my front 2 abs hubs for 20$-30$ ? used and rear should be about the same... the extension housing should be real cheap as well and i wouldnt see why you couldnt drill it out you just need to thread the port right (nothing special is inside the sensor area hehe) as long as you know what you are doin :)

Actually, the 1987 N/A with the sport package did come with ABS and LSD. They made a lot of them that way.
abs was an option my car is an 86.5 n/a sport package lsd no abs my 87 was the same way

the whole abs unit will be a lil pricey yea? and dont you have to have all the abs lines that come out of it too?

Since it's a 3-channel system, the rear hubs are the same whether or not the car has ABS. The rear speed sensor is in the transmission, not on the hub.
