hello everyone.im new to the supra mania forums but i have been looking at the post for awhile now.so right now i am 15.i got my first car.which is a 1987 supra.i am the third owner of the car but the previous owners all took good care of the car.so the first owner of the car had the original 7m-ge engine in it with the auto transmission.the second owner stripped the engine and wanted to put a 7m-gte.well his idea never was successful.i bought it for 500 with the two engines but they weren't installed.we were missing a few things and lucky us we found another supra on Craigslist for sale for 400.all it needed was a new starter.we ended up buying it and towing it back to my house.we are now trying to start the engine.my car has no engine in it.i would like to put the 7m-gte engine in it but i don't have the money for dyno testing.which is about 200 per hour at the dyno.i have everything for the turbo engine, inter cooler, radiator and such.and i have now in total of 2 7mge engines.one in the supra i bought for parts and another one in my garage.

supra when i first got it.

i had some rims in my basement that fit the car.

First i would sell those rims asap. Those dont belong on a supra.

Second you dont need a dyno to go from 7mge to 7mgte. If you put the turbo on the 7mge is most likely going to blow and it will be a 7mge-t.

3rd. Not trying to be a dick in any way but since your so young it might be better to just put a good running 7mge in and drive the car. You still have a lot to learn and a long way to go as far a driving skill. After you graduate high skool then i would do something with the 7mgte.

As for the auto to manual. You will need the pedal assemblys for brake and clutch from the manual car along with the slave and master cylinder and the lines. The drive shaft will need to be transfered. and the clutch and flywheel.

thanks hvyman.i know what u mean.i grew up with the turbo family.and yea the rims arent going to be on there.i got bored and wanted to find out the patern and stuff so i put on the rims.but there off.and i thinki might put in a 7mge.the 7mge i am going to put inthere already has the manual transmision in there.do i still have to change the drive shaft?and its best not to put the turbo in the 7mge rite?

Not better to just use a 7mgte. Lower compression. And most people that do a na/t the engine blows quick. Not worth it in the end.

The w58 5spd trans needs a w58 5sp ds.

If you find the simple thing of putting a clutch pedal in (which the clutch pedal master and slave cylinder + lines install should be all of an hour to do)
For the amount of work and the fact you will onoly screw it up anyway, just sell it all and buy a stock MA70 (GTE) or jza70.. going to be cheaper and easier in the long run.

were i live there are no supras.and i have a whole nother supra i can use for parts that i may need.and 2 other engines.

I trailered one of my supras over 2000km's. When it comes to nice supra's you make the effort for a good one.

its either learn to work on it or drive a honda.

Clutch pedal is going to be the easy part. Removeing the engine and trans is the harder part.

the parts car i got has no title.we will take the engine off of that one and put the turbo on there.since it has no title we will use it for the drag strip.for fun with the family on july 4th or something who knows.but yea it is worth driving far for a car.but i have a garage and over 4,000 craftsman tools.and car engine jack etc.itll be easy for tools.ima take the summer time to start working on it.i mean comon.its not often were you first car is a supra.haha:evil2:

15? highfive, Welcome to the younglings group. I'm only 16 :D.

Anyway removing the whole dashboard gives you easy access to the foot pedals so installing your clutch pedal wouldn't be so hard, thats if you're willing to go through the headache of removing it and putting it back on again but it's up to you really.

Not a bad idea putting the 7mgte on the which i'll call your "track car" for something you can screw around with and treat your daily car as your daily. Anyway good luck with the build.

Just need to connect 2 wires together for the nuetral saftey switch.

The speed sensor is for abs and reverse lights, both those connectors are the same between auto and manual.

bad starter. loose starter signal wire? the starter only has a big power cable straight from battery and a little signal wire that comes from the ignition. If the relay is clicking then its either bad starter (hit it with hammer, if it turns after youve got bad starter) or loose connections to starter (chk this first)
