I thought I would really trust this guy, turns out I was wrong.

Warranty info is BOGUS!!! He will not honor warranty for XSPower.

I have tons of proof that the turbo was bad during the 6 months of the warranty period, and I was in contact with him, yet he still refuses to warranty because NOW it is after the warranty by a month.

98mkiv is a RIP-OFF!!!!!

More information can be found here in these two links.

I have less than 5,000 miles on the turbo, but it started failing the moment I put it on.

Oil had been leaking out between the turbine housing and the compressor housing for quite some time. I notified XSPower about the problem but they refused to work with me.

Well now it got the point where I started creating a smoke screen behind me, and pretty much killing everybody around me. VERY embaressing to say the least.

I pulled the turbo off last night and snapped a few pictures. XSPower then uses 6 point torque bit(but with flat points) to hold on the backplate, so I couldn't tear the turbo completely down yet to look at the exact failure.

Something else I noticed. For balancing the compressor wheel. I would have figured it would have been machined. NOT EVEN! Looks like they took a grinding wheel to it. I will have to take a picture of that. I mean seriously, a grinder?

I think I will stick to the real deal now, just like I no longer mess with piggy backs.

As soon as I pulled off the turbine housing, oil just poured out. You can also see all the oil residue and burnt oil on the housing.

There is no problem with the gasket, and it is free and clear of any debris, just to be sure it was not a problem with the return.

Here you can see the ID of the hose I am using. The batter was dead on my calipes, but that is spot on .5"

Here you can see there are NO kinds in the return line, top then bottom.

In a nutshell, look at my replies to you over "there."

I think for one, you need to stop running your mouth.

Two, telling a supplier that YOUR TURBO IS BAD. I WANT MY MONEY BACK after 7 months is an automatic fail. WARRANTY IS 6 MONTHS.

Oh, are you ASE certified to install turbos or tell a producer that their turbo is faulty?

I am curious as to why you waited so long. If you knew it was "bad", why didn't you do something about it sooner, rather than wait till the warranty expired.

READ MY FREAKIN COMPLAINT IN THE LINK GUYS!!! I DID NOT WAIT 7 months.

I have a jpeg of my conversation with Mark about the turbo 2 months into the warranty. I can post it to prove it.

He kept doing the same thing you are doing MDC, questioning my knowledge and abilities. I have been building supras for over 10 years.....DO NOT QUESTION ME!!!!!

I should ignore this comment, but I won't!!!

MOST, not ALL ASE certified have no where near the knowlege I have about peformance. I have toyota techs calling me for advice!!! I have people ship thier vehicles nationwide to me to work on them, and get asked to fly out to remote locations which I now turn down because I don't have time for that anymore.

AGAIN, DO NOT QUESTION ME ABOUT MY KNOWLEDGE, YOU WILL GET BURNED!!!!!

Thanks

More or less calling out the credibility of a respected member of the community (MDC) in his area of excellence is prob not a great way to go about parading your cause.

Telling everyone they'll get burned for questioning your knowledge is also a great way to send your own credibility down the shitter. If you truly are infallible and it was the manufacturers fault then thanks for sharing your experience, but...

Dude, you are shooting yourself in the foot here.

1. You post ALL IN CAPS. Calm down, nobody wants to look at you screaming.
2. Do not question you about your knowledge? Why not? We get lots of snot nosed kids in here claiming they are master builders. The only way to separate the men from the boys is to question their knowledge. Generally, the kids bluster about and stick their foot in the mouth pretty quick. The men state how they installed it, how they primed it, what kind of use they were putting it to, and let us make our own decision.
3. You are posting in the wrong forum.
4. You are bringing a dispute from another forum to here. There are times when this is appropriate, however for the most part complaints that jump from forum to forum are total BS.

I'm not saying that you're an ignorant kid with an attitude... yet. I am saying that you are POSTING like one.

Oh, and don't link to crap on another forum, use your copy and paste function and repost it. Nobody wants to have to click through to another place to read your story.

*edit* I'll say it for you, Grim ;)

SupraRunner - you're an idiot.

I'm going to go read your 'complaint' - but hey, unbeknownst to you, 99.9% of turbo failure due to manufacturing defect occurs within 5-10 minutes of running the turbo.

I have dealt with and used XSPower turbos. Are they built as well as something that say... MDC puts together? No. Do they work correctly? Yes.

Where did you go wrong? I GUARANTEE you did not follow proper break-in procedure for the turbo. Which would be 45 minutes of motor idling, without allowing the compressor wheel to turn, while HOT oil flushes the bearings down.

But hey, I'll go read your little tirade, and draw my own conclusions momentarily ;)

*edit 2* Do you even understand how the exhaust side is sealed? There is no 'seal' per se. Your turbo failed due to excessive oil pressure inside the cartridge, sorry.

You should have taken this up immediately within the 6 month policy. Sounds to me like you are just butthurt over this.

24k miles on my XSPower turbo, btw.

You are right, sorry. I just really tried to be nice about the hole thing and he just crapped on that.

I posted my information about the problem. This is not an oiling problem. The turbo still spools fine, and there is minimal shaft play. It leaked oil from day one(I thought at first it was my return line which is why it took me two weeks to contact him)

3. You are posting in the wrong forum.

Anything goes in this forum right? That is why I put it here, I didn't want to put it in forum where it didn't belong

4. You are bringing a dispute from another forum to here. There are times when this is appropriate, however for the most part complaints that jump from forum to forum are total BS.

People on almost every supra forum buy these turbos, so people need to know the truth
I'm not saying that you're an ignorant kid with an attitude... yet. I am saying that you are POSTING like one.
Again, I apologize, I am just really fed up right now.

Oh, and don't link to crap on another forum, use your copy and paste function and repost it. Nobody wants to have to click through to another place to read your story.

I will fix that. I see others do it quite often, I will remove the links and post the actual information.

It leaked from day one. It took me two weeks because I thought it was the return line, then I went to SILV08. When I got back, I PM'd him with the problem. I have proof.

you can GUARANTEE that I didn't follow proper break in? And you saw this how? Hiddend camra or something? That is a rediculous allegation.

But hey, I'll go read your little tirade, and draw my own conclusions momentarily ;)

*edit 2* Do you even understand how the exhaust side is sealed? There is no 'seal' per se. Your turbo failed due to excessive oil pressure inside the cartridge, sorry.

What is your definition of a seal? There is a seal. Turbo DID NOT fail due to excessive oil pressure. I have another turbo on my car right now and guess what....it doesn't leak. WOW, how did that happen?

You should have taken this up immediately within the 6 month policy. Sounds to me like you are just butthurt over this.

I tried, I gave him my info, and awaited his instructions. Nothing happend.

24k miles on my XSPower turbo, btw.

Bad turbo = remove and send it in ASAP.
If it was bad within the 6 month period, you should have sent it in then.

6 months and 1 day, out of luck.

I gav him my info 2 months into the warranty to supply warranty information, which he asked for. I waited and assumed he forgot....HE DID!!! Why is that my fault?

now what's that old saying? oh yea....you get what you pay for. stop being cheap and get a turbo you'll would work.

Haha, that is the kicker. I only did this to see how much HP these chinese crap turbos could get. I wanted to help out XSPower and 98mkiv, and I told him that I was going to go the the dyno next week to get some numbers to help promote the product. Nobody has pushed this turbo as hard as I, and I was going to push it harder, but it was leaking/burning oil too bad and would fill up the shop with smoke. THen I get crapped on.

THAT SUCKS!!!

Because he is not honoring his warranty, and now I am out the money. I know it isn't much, but that isn't the point.

One word sums it up:
