Yeah, The plugs are available at autozone they are 5.00 for a whole set of different size ones. Most of the PCV lines you can just make your own out of 5/8 oil hose like I did. The top ones for the valve covers are just 1/2 inch hose as well, and the specialty one that goes from the TB to the PCV tube above the valve cover driftmotion has for 13.00

You can see here how I did mine, I got rid of the hard line for the IACV and just ran soft lines across instead. Works perfect :)

Now that I have discovered all these issues... I think you are right, it might just be cheaper for me to get the kit and plug the bov port on the accordion pipe (where in the world do I find those... plugs that people are using???). I still need to address the cracked pcv hoses and breather tubes too...

Finding the plugs is EXTREMELY easy. Go to any auto parts store & ask for a "Bypass cap assortment" part number is 02253. It'll have many different size caps. & if you can't find any which i doubt, let me know ill let you have the spare one i have (theres a pair of every size in the packet)

Hey Devin, did the heat affect your BOV performance? i got the CXRAcing one. Worked perfect at first.. but now i heard the PSHH but A LOT of flutter afterward. No idea why it wouldn't work. I have great vacuum, if i disconnect the BOV's vaccum source the car seems to idle a bit rougher.. VAC LEAK?...

Agh the unfortunate thing is... I'm stranded at home... the nearest auto parts store is a 20 min DRIVE away... I don't think putting my car back together when I've already removed all the bad tubing is a good idea... no telling what might happen to the hoses if I decide to drive with them again... *sigh any idea what the plugs are called?? i can probably find them on the autozone website.. I searched plugs and cam up with like a million results lmao

Awesome, good news, the seller was very very helpful and refunded my purchase sans ebay fees... ugh fees... hate them. Dunno about the quality of the hoses, but damn!!! the customer service was quick and helpful!!! LoL so once my Bank figures out the mess of my transfers refunds etc etc, I can work out my next course of action... DM IC kit for 390 + valve cover BOLTS + Vent hose about 415... then I need lockwashers and some hose for the breather tubes from McMaster Carr... then the caps from autozone... so total about 430... then shipping... I'd say 470-480 at most... should be good :D Oh I can't wait for new parts hehehehehe

AND yesterday was my birthday so it's like... my belated gift to myself!! hahaha and this is the 23rd page of my thread and I just turned 23.. so LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!!!!!

Thanks!! sorry been busy past couple days, I decided against the DM kit because I read a couple threads and the amount of relocation is just too much, So I decided on the 2.5in piping kit with the spearco style IC that doesn't require relocation of the oil cooler and hopefully the coolant overflow... Saw a pic of one setup done by DM where everything stayed in the same place. I emailed DM for some advice, but I fear I might be in too big a hurry since they are very busy >_<. So far I have saved in my cart, the piping kit, a couple 45 degree elbows, 90 degreee elbow, the HKS BOV adapter pipe, the HKS knockoff BOV until I can afford a real SSQV, Reducer from 2.5 to 2 for the turbo, and a 2.75 coupler for the 3k pipe to tb. I plan on cutting the narrow end off the 3k pipe so it goes from 2.75 to 2.5. I also have the t-bolt clamps fro the reducer and 2.75n coupler. ok so now pics of what I've been up to

... after they finish uploading

Made a new TEMS gasket with some foam from McMaster Carr works PERFECTLY

sm_photo_missing.jpg

New Center Console Cover... mmm real leather. Yes I bought this and my new brake boot from the ebay seller in London... they are cheaper than Empera and use real leather. However the brake boot doesn't fit as well as stock, which I think is easily solved by some double-sided tape.

So any feedback on the IC piping choice?? I hope to order the parts tomorrow morning... and hope to get it by next week >_< being stranded sucks

I'm thinking about keeping it at 80 grit or another level more to avoid uber blingy ness... Not that I'm too lazy to polish it all the way, but I can't justify my stock engine with super polished parts... and plus it looks rather out of place.

Really hoping I got the ground locations correct.. I failed to take note of how they were when I pulled the parts off (<--- This guy, NEWB)

Thanks guys!! Comforting to know bout the grounds LoL! Right now I have quite the dilemma. I am really keen on getting a nice set of JDM tails. Its the last piece I need for my bodywork. I have collected mirrors, door handles, got a set of 89+ spoiler waiting and now all I need is the tails, and once I've saved up enough or bodywork I can bring these all in at once for painting along with the car. The issue is, I know that THAT is going to take a long time, at least several months before I can afford bodywork (and a rental car for the time she's in shop), so the tails aren't that big a priority. So here now is my dilemma. I HAD found a set of perfect tails, the whole chaluppa, bulb holders, etc etc for 205 plus 115 shipping (total of 320), but that was sold last week :( . I had thought There were no more perfect sets, but then I contacted another seller, and he sent me a whole bunch of pics of the set he was selling and it was just as perfect as the other set, but he was selling for 249 plus 95 shipping total of 344. I managed to talk him down to 238 for a total of 333. Another set was part of a whole 89+ trim deal for 550, but the sellers contacted me saying they were willing to break it up and sell me just the tails for 250 + 65 (315).

MY question for yall is, do you think I will be able to find perfect sets of jdm tails months from now? or should I jump on these offers and get my part now and not have to worry about trying to source the JDM tails right before I want bodywork done?

NOOOOOO!!!!!! I knew something was not right!!!!!.... coolant overflowing out of overflow reservoir, water noises on start-up, horrible smelling brown coolant... ugh you guessed it.. possible BHG or sealing issues :(... I'm at a loss. Time to research what I can do to test and if it can be fixed... cuz remember, my goal is to do a 2j swap... I think it may be time to begin collecting parts for a 2j swap...

Well... I think it's safe to say even if it isn't a full blown (no pun intended) BHG, something is clearly wrong... I looked on amazon and the test kit is 54.39 for a one time use. So now it's time to decide my next course of action. I know for one that I am immediately diverting my attention to job-hunting regardless of how tough my summer school schedule will be. I will also be selling anything I can find that is of value in my meager possessions.

So my plans for 2JZ swap have now been taken off the to do list for months from now to the planning board for tomorrow. Ugh. I really want to be able to keep driving the car up until I have the new engine all done, wiring all set up, peripherals all ready, and do the swap in one go as fast as possible. This is unless I can come by a SUPER good alternative DD option. Best offer I found so far is a lexus LS300 for 4k... this is possible the worst way to start off my 23rd year begin alive... so much for 23 the lucky number >_<

Yeah lots of ups and downs with these cars. A good day driver is a good idea. That way you aren't pressed for time when doing the swap. I would make sure its a bhg before you do anything. Did you drive it hard or did it just start doing that after you put her back together. It could be air in your system.
