Ok guys i have a turbo kit on the way. But im curious as to what every one elses engines look like that went from NA to turbo. I searched for a ge-t pics thread but i didnt find one. So lets see if we can get some ge-t pics going in here. And post up your mods as well. This is to start a ge-t pics thread and to give me ideas for my car as well. Start postin! Thanks guys!

it should look almost like a GTE engine bay. unless you went 1/2 na-t

The only differences between the vast majority of the N/A-Ts I've seen are that half use the GTE intake manifold and half stick with the GE mani, the same for the coil packs (depends on which electronics they decided to go with). There are other subtle differences, such as the location of the power steering reservoir.

well then lets make this a gte pics thread.....then i can still see how it should look...I tryed searching for a gte pics thread as well and couldnt find one of those either.....anything so i can get an idea of what they look like...yeah the intake manifold is a big part of the reason i want to see pics because i wanted to see what the two look like when turboed....

well here is some different setups i have had
10:1n/a, header, intake

that engine turbo'd on n/a electronics

then full turbo electronics

the whole thing took 2 days to turbo it then ran n/a electroncs for 4days, made a crap load of power but a/f's were to unstable so i swaped electronics to the turbo setup(4 hours by myself).
the car runs a heck of alot better in all gears on turbo stuff.

Went turbo with NA electronics, but it sucked... Couldn't get a good tune.

It now looks like this. Same NA block/head as before. Full turbo electronics.

Where did you get your plug wires from.....im looking to reloate mine when i get me turbo swap done.

My plug wires are MSD. They are for the 7mge, the NA ones are longer. I had to modify the ends to fit in the turbo coilpack, but they work great.

I like the top of the engine to be as clean as possible, I did the coilpacks and also moved the throttle cable off the top of the valve covers.

Here's the wires. They come from MSD with this end not assembled.

1. Cut about 1/2 inch off the bronze electrode.
2. Squeeze the electrode slightly until it is a snug fit in the coilpack.
3. Trim the rubber boot by cutting the 90deg part off.

Crimp the electrode on the wire as per the instructions. They supply a tool.
Slide boot over it, and your done.

I was initially worried about it coming loose, as the stock turbo wires have clips. But as long as the electrode is a tight fit, and the boot is long enough it fits real tight. To remove them I have to wiggle em for a while.

yankiwi - were those ur stock valve covers? If so what did you paint them with and where did u get it at?

If some of you dont mind, what size injectors, what size / kind of turbo do you have? and how much hp are you pushing......afm?

7m-gte guys - Can i get some Gte engine pics in here as well? It was ment for both of you. Plus this could be a great resource for turbo'd engines!

My picture on the prevous page:

Im running with GTE electronics, 440CC injectors, turbo AFM, NA cams, Turbo manifold, CT-26, open BIC DDP, SAFC, Wideband, and a barage of other misc things. Im hoping at 10PSI for around 300 HP, and at 15 PSI 360ish. Keep in mind htough, this is with higher compression, so tunings gonna be a bitch
