Yep! my entire engine is stock except for some minor changes to the configuration of my motor I.E EGR block off plate (unfortunately with how my fuel rail is configured with that sensor on the side i can't run an EGR)

When i heard Rob was parting out i sent him a message because i felt like he was on the verge of selling his shell and i put an offer down because i really loved his car and i didn't want it to be a part out shell for someone else's car! so i snatched it up and now it's going to be up and running very soon! hopefully videos to come here for first start up in the next month!

Wow, I followed his build since day one and it turned out to be one heck of a car. Made over 4xx rwhp I believe. I know a blown motor was mentioned, but what happened exactly?? The 7M seemed like it was properly built (but what do I know).

As with this current build, it's good to see it went to another MKIII owner. Not that I would ever do it to my car (unless it came stock, rarity of the turbo A, I know lol), but the turbo A duct is so distinctive.

if i recall it ran too lean. i did see the carnage after all 4 corners of the piston were melted down. not a pretty site at all but definitely happy that i could give it a safe home! :)

This block is all together except for a couple things. One main thing is my fault and that is because i have no idea where im putting these steel braided lines from my turbo to the block! any idea where they plug into? im looking at the TSRM and multiple different pictures but they always are just out of range of exactly where they plug in. Any assistance would be awesome haha im sorry im such a noob :)

Steel braided? Do you have a pic? The only one I can think of is the one that connects to that brass fitting shown in my picture right here. Is that the one? If so, I thought that was for the bov.

The big difference between the turbo block and the na block is the oil squirter and two knock sensors. Other then that it is the same. Think I remember where that hose you were talking about leads to, it's been a while, but I think it's right below the manifold on the block same side as the turbo.

You'll have to drill the block to replicate the turbo block's turbo provisions. You're also going to have to come up with a way to supply coolant to the turbo (pending your turbo had coolant lines)

I used the N/A water neck by turning some of the unions. Works fine. The lower union is the same between N/A and turbo, but the upper is a little different. It hits the power steering res. a little, but not too badly.

For oil feed you thread the tee into the port where the oil pressure sending unit goes, then the sending unit will thread onto one side of the tee, and im unsure if its straight -4 out of the tee, or if there's an adapter in the kit.. But either way, the -4 hose goes on the other half of the tee.

For oil drain you just weld in the -10 bung. Make sure its as high as possible on the pan, without any interference, and NOT inline with any con. rods.

Cut down the -10 hose and put the 90 at the pan, rather than the turbo. Should be a fairly straight shot once you have the hose cut down.

Also, you're going to have to drop the pan before drilling and welding for the bung.

I have another pan im slapping on...this one is just for test fit its got a huge dent in it :\ ill have the machine shop do that cause i don't trust my welding skills hahaha.

ive been reading up on this EGR block off plate business...im not here to start a flame war SO PLEASE DON'T! they say there should be paranoia bout doing this and im just curious how bad its gonna be if or when this thing is running...it's so weird that UFO pile of crap could do a 100C degree increase.

the last shipment of parts is on it's way here (hopefully arriving next week!) once all this stuff is slapped on my engine that's it! she's done! then i commence separating the shell on the transmission and throwing that orange RTV on it (it looks like it desperately needs it.) then ill slap on a couple new gaskets. Order up the clutch and the lightweight flywheel. It's amazing how much changed from what i originally intended and what it ended up with.

Anyone got any break-in tips for this motor?

I've heard at least 500 miles without boost, but I'm sure everyone has an opinion lol.

From what i researched the general consensus was to "keep it out of boost" some say baby it lots say beat the poop out of it just make sure it doesn't go past 4k. Am i right guys? im noob to breaking in supra engines :)

My original plan was to put in some real cheap 30 wt oil, run her until she was warmed up and dump it, then put in the Brad Penn (it's expensive), but Sean had put the Brad Penn in it already. So we ran it, I changed it out pretty quick. I plan on changing it again quickly, once we have the fuel pump and new filters reinstalled. Everyone has different opinions, as seen in the above SF thread.

so everything on the block is done, except for the oil pan which im cleaning right now and then what is the deal with AN fittings/steel braded lines? how do you attach them? every time i screw one on they fall off. what am i doing wrong.?? :)

Note ive been trying to test fit it and i have not cut it down yet. i don't even know how to do that without fraying.
