Clevite bearings (which are NDC bearings for 7m's)
upgraded moly coated oil pump from drift motion
etc etc etc. pics to come once the parts arrive.

get ARP rod bolts and probe forged pistons. I would go that route for 500hp safely

plan on it only ill go CP pistons and eagle rods. That's a while away yet though. I just want to get the engine turboed and running for a year before i decide career wise what my future is like.
:)

also just ordered some rod bolts actually :D

I have seen high 400 numbers on treated stock internals, a lot cheaper then new rods and pistons.

oh shit ive seen them in the 700's the magic of a tune eh? :)

im actually impressed by the internals in this car. I don't even give a lot of the 80's V8s as much credit as i do with this engine. VERY strong.

You should buy my rolling chassis and be done with interior suspension and wheels. Which is a fairly large chunk of build out of the way for a lowish price, oh and it has the fuel system intact.

cp's and eagles arent really neccessary for what youre trying to do. seems more like wasted money.....................

i don't plan on buying them anytime soon not till i plan on making serious power. besides having Eagle rods and CP pistons creates a bigger ceiling to do even more.

On another note Parts got ordered this morning! guys over at DG motors will be doing the bottom end for me :)

parts 1 of 5 for the bottom end arrived! :icon_bigg

the upgraded oil pump is coming along with a full set of clevite bearings. Then some random parts for the block and then some 4age flexplate bolts are coming from ARP next week.

yeah they do! hey Steve, since im probably doing a cam regrind with this block would you recommend me getting some upgraded valve springs/retainers? i know i gotta shim the buckets that sit on top of them but should i keep the stock ones? or upgrade.

To be honest, don't do cams until you have an EMS controlling the fuel and upping the redline. Rob is running 272's and is hating life because he can't idle right (waaaay too lean) plus he can't take full advantage of the powerband with the stock ecu :( . The stock cams are good for the stock redlines and have been proven to make very good power.
As for springs, I went with the comp cams BBC spring solution- cheap and an upgrade in every way. You could have Doug/Guy order them, or check sipracingmailorder.com- I know Rich has them, not sure about driftmotion.com, but might be worth a look. Be sure to have the part number for the springs if you're going to have Doug/guy order them just to be safe.
Only reason to go to shimless buckets or underbucket shims would be if you run big lift cams (in excess of 9mm, or so I've been told) My 272's have 8.7mm lift and I'm sticking with the stock buckets and shims, maybe changing them up if I start to make really good power at higher rpms ;)

Yeah, I had heard there were issues, just never confirmed them beyond what I had heard :(

I'll talk to you more about building the engine/setting goals for the build at the meet- waaaay too much stuff to organize into text at the moment

well got home to find my clevite kit came in the mail :) the only thing left is driftmotion to send their oil pump i ordered a couple weeks ago...i think they are still modding it.

gave all of my parts to the machineshop oh and i guess im .20 over now :)

also had Doug order up some of those BBC springs Steve mentioned....i couldn't believe how weak the current valve springs were LOL
