Disturbed if im not mistaken thats an ignition map right? red meaning ignition while blue being fuel? If so excellent because ignition is the problem for me as i don't have a good knowledge of it.

Who else has maps or files? or results or reviews?

How difficult was making the harness and how does it play into the factory gauge cluster and the rest of the stock things.

Also anyone set up PWM output for like a meth pump or auxillary fuel pump? I'm playing with the software and it doesn't seem to save the values I enter nor does it show a map. Maybe it's an issue with vista? The computer going into my car will have XP.

Another thing i notice is when the stinger program window is maximized it doesn't fill the screen properly. It positions itself down from the top of the screen and a little bit behind the start bar. Anyone else notice this??

making the harness wasnt difficult at all took me about a hour maybe 2 alot of small parts, it works with the factory sensors and gauges just fine and cost me 20 bucks in total.

i am running my fuel pumps on aux output 1st with no problem you just have to remember that all the stinger does is drops a 4 sec ground signal in order to turn on the relay switch; so all in all its pretty simplistic.

now when it comes your problem with entering values if its not hooked up to the car then you will have to save the whole tuning file after you have completed whatever your working on, if you have it hooked up on the stinger whenever you punch in a value just hit enter it will automaticly write that value to the stinger. If you want to see a graph in your fuel or ignition map you will have fill in more than one rpm cell in the row other wise you will just get different points on the map which wont look like much visually

If you can wait till tomorrow I'll grab a pic for you or you could just go to driftmotion and have a look. But all you do is unplug the factory ecu and plug one end of the harness into the loom and the other end into the stinger. You need to run a vac line to the ecu and an air temp sensor. Heres the bit I'm not too sure about I think you also need to add some diodes to make the ignition work and put a relay in for the fuel pump but I'm not too sure. Maybe one of the guys who are using the pnp harness could chime in and help me out :)

blackkarma: have u noticed... if u save your map to pc from ecu, then unplug it from ecu. then just go about addign load points/changing map points (much like i did smoothing out my ignition map i posted on other page. save the file. then go upload it to the ecu and the car will run like shit and be completely out of tune??

this is what happened to me. so had to put the old map back in, start car up and change the load points etc while the car was running. havent had any problems just tweaking the odd fuel load point with car off though, only if i start adding load points like rpm or boost

yeah i have ran into that prob before thinking i could just drop in my load points and smooth out my map while watching some TV; ended up going back to my orginal map as well.

whats really getting under my skin tho is when im changing multiple points on the map after about 4 or 5 the stinger repeatedly ask me if i want to read from ecu

Well the problem with adding the points is I add them and saved the file then when I reload the file there all gone. And even after I fill the graph with values they all disapear and don't show graph after saving and reloading. This is for the pwm output, the fuel and ignition maps are good it's just the pwm option on output.

change the extension to from em4 (or whatever extension your version of software uses) to txt then post it up. The em4 extension isnt a valid file type for the forum. whoever wants to save the file will have to save the file to there computer and then manually change the entension to em4 (or whatever the extension is that works for there software) to work with the stinger software.

To post it go advanced reply, then click on manage attachments then upload from computer, then navigate to where your saved files are located and click on the file of choice then click upload.

just loaded it with EM4 extension. is that the extension the file originally had?

it loaded up in stinger 4 software check out the screen shots.

look good to you? numbers look right on the grids? if you can read them? Im assuming output 3 is for electric fans?

normally EM8 extension - i dont actually have a stinger - have a 8860

fuel map looks different at idle/low vac/low rpm but pretty damn close

op1 = fuel pmp
op2 = tacho
op3 = thermos :)

Mk3les: download the new software, your running on old software. to get your old saves to convert you can just open them in stinger v4 i believe.

Disturbed: i see i never used the 8860 software so i wasnt sure of the extension. i loaded it up in stinger 4 software and came up with that so i guess there cross compatible. And do you mean the ignition map looks a little different? you said its close by 1-2 degrees?

Heres a screen shot of the map enlarged and the grid enlarged for fuel.

i see what you mean about it looking different on the map. the one you posted has some low spots that arent seemed to show on my map. maybe it was a different save file?

im also unsure of what the fuel override tab is for, anyone have an idea of what exactly that does?

I found out that the onboard MAP sensor actually reads above 30 PSI, even though the fuel/ignition maps don't show it.

With the fuel/ignition override tab you can add more fuel/ignition retard when going past 30 PSI. It's there to keep more of a smooth map, rather than a huge "hill". The pre-set settings are good. I never needed to touch them.

excuxse the big pic - but this is what the maps look like on correct 8860 software.

BTW this isnt the tune as it sits - have tweaked it since and smooothed out fuel map quiet substantially. dont think ive got a saved copy on my laptop and car is motorless atm (no it didnt pop from my tune) so too hard to get the actual final map off the ecu just now
