Well of course the 2JZGTE head flows more then a 1JZGTE head stock... that's common sence. One motor is 2.5 liters, the other is 3.

A goal was to actually install a 2JZGTE head on my 1JZ...

higher displacement isn't gonna necessarily gonna flow more air.

hell some 4 bangers out flow the 7M and 1JZ

the head just has bigger ports...

LOL and yes the whole arguement was Stock for Stock...

I've always thought of it as a known fact that the 1J head flows better then the 2J head (stock) and that's why people do 1.5's. I've heard that from severat people. Even 2J guys with high horsepower have told me that. I always thought 1.5 was the best way to go. That's from word of mouth though. I haven't seen any kind of flow test numbers comparing the two to prove it. Has anyone who is making these claims? I'd like to see the hard facts!

I'm curious as to what that set up would do. Has anyone done that? Someone go buy a 1J and a 2J, then swap the heads with each other and put them each on an engine dyno. What would the results be I wonder? Any opinions?

I still believe anything over 500 on the street is wheel spin or just a highway/dyno queen. The 1.5 is a great alternative to the lack of low end response of the 1J. Even if the 2J flows better or more air, the stock 1J head can get into the 500's with cams all day. I would have gone 1.5 but I found a deal I couldn't pass up on a full 2J. All three motors are sweet.

Does this argument really need to pop up every 5 minutes? This is as bad as the old 7m vs. 1j threads. C'mon guys. Very few 1jz owners would turn down a free 2jz motor because the 1j head flows better/faster, or even is more responsive.

People don't go 2jz for head flow, they go for more power, super responsiveness, and 900+ hp on a stock bottom end. Damn the head flow argument. Save your money and buy the better motor! If you can't afford the better motor, shut the hell up and enjoy what you got.

Ok, you can do 900hp on a 1jz stock bottom end too....

People go 2JZGTE because the "bigger is better" mindset

Oh, and because the 2JZGTE pwns all in fast and the furious

Wow. This guy seems to be pretty heated about the subject. This is a forum and these kind of conversations is what forums are for. :thefinger
