Honestly im not flamin u here or anything, but how many MKIV with all that big power get lower than 12's heh not many. how many 400-500 hp MKIII get between high 11's to high 10's heh i can name a few for you. thats why they call them dynoqueens :D

^^Agreed.

For this example, this is all because these MKIV owners just want a sh*t load of horsepower and don't care about anything else...even if knowing how to drive properly is included...:nono:
I'm not too sure about 400rwhp MKIII's, but any much above that point and definately less power than these MKIV Supras, These MKIII Supra's are running faster times because they're trying to be as quick as possible, which would typically mean getting a built AT,....the goods. ;)
Not achieve 9000rwhp Street driven:eek3:, But these specific and large majority of MKIV owners are just too hardheaded to go with a 3 speed/gearbox

:EDIT: While on topic, go see what sort of transmission/gear box Ryan Woon is using now.
Bye-bye, 6 speed. :runaway:

400 hp is somewhat easy for our cars and atteinable on stock fuel, the 500 mark starts to get difficult and so on, there are mkiii's not on forums making 900-1000 hp the mkiv is just more widely known and all the 1000hp plus mkiv's get lots of publicity in mags ect. the bottom line is we have cars that make good power easily, some of you think that because the mkiv guys are making that kind of power somehow it is easy, those guys have years of experience, their own shops, and BIG pockets, why do you think supras are always on top of the racing scene, 500 hp is A LOT for any car, hell a 500 hp honda can run 10's and it is not "cake" to make that kind of power out of a 1.8 litre. i do not have any numbers on my car but it should make 600hp plus, and it was not easy at all, my car had been down for a year, i built my own FFIM i did everything myself and it has been totally worth it... but not easy at all. also a 1000hp car yes is "streetable" once every month or so but you try drivin that thing everyday it would be hell, i have to let my car warm up for 4-5 minutes everyday before i can really drive it. and my car is nothing wild and special. the majority of MKiv owners dont even make 500hp they like to leave their cars bpu make 420 and have the comfort of being able to start up and drive no questions asked. it is easy to talk about making crazy power but when you actually try it, things become a lot more complicated

the people that own the 1000rwhp (currently over 1300rwhp for one person) has told me flat out "its pretty easy to drive on the street... just shift before 4000rpm". hearing it straight from the source pretty much eliminates any chances of it being misconstrued.

but like i said, if you guys want to knock me for having higher standards and working with a bar thats set higher be people already making the power... go right ahead.

btw, woon already dominated the stock 6sp class, holding the world's fastest and quickest 6sp car. when you acheive your goal, what do you do? set youself another goal and acheive it too. going as fast as he did w/ a stock transmission and a diaphragm clutch is more of an accomplishment that most people here can claim, especially me. i cant claim shit... just that i dont settle for medioricty.

regards
chris

Exactly. Go out and build your car how you want it, that way you can get outta the passengers seat and stop living your dreams through others. Nice photoshop job on your rims btw...

flubyux2 is right in theroy - These big power monsters don't put down big power until 4000rpm+, that should give you around 300 to play with before you hit the "danger zone", that should be driveable, right?

Sorry to go off topic, but how much power could roughly $20,000 make on a 7M, I was thinking it could put me in the 600ish mark

Depends what the condition of the car is right now. You could spend $5k easy on a new wire harness, sensors, sub-frames, differential, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, tires, alternator, radiator, fan blade/clutch, etc, you name it.... just to get it up to snuff for modding.

Asuming your car is in A1 condition mechanically and electrically, $20,000 might get you into the 650+hp range if you spend your money wisely.

LOOOL I love it ;)

I wish I was a fabricator and supra-expert like you guys.... maybe one day.... but for now it would probably cost me double to get what you guys achieve
