I would still drop it in 4th for a freeway run. I'd shift out of 4th around 110 when I was NA, so there's no need to floor it in 5th @ 80. Not to mention you guys are speeding quite a bit, I dunno what the speed limit is where you live but here it's 65. I've already gotten 2 speeding tickets, and am not going to get another one by going 80+ on the freeway and killing gas. I keep my speed under 75 at all times on the freeway but it usually is more around 70 mph.
In response to Isphius, note that the following is for an R154 (Not a w58 so it may be SLIGHTLY different), and my tires are 245/50/16 instead of the stock 225/50/16 or w/e.
3000 RPMS in 5th = 71 mph
3500 RPMS in 5th = 82 mph
6500 RPMS in 5th = 153 mph (I was told 152.8 before with stock tire size/w58)
7500 RPMS in 5th = 177 mph
Yes there is that much of a difference. I gain 24 mph from adding the 1000 RPMS till redline, since I'm 1jz and not 7m. And just for shits and giggles, if I got an aftermarket ecu and revved to 8,000:
8000 RPMS in 5th gear = 189 mph
I'm pretty sure the posted calculator rounds up or down, since it won't show any decimals. But for the most part the #'s definetely seem correct.
