Yeah it's amazing how Chevrolet built the C6 Z06 to get 28MPG highway, lol, NO gas guzzlers tax.. on a car that has 505hp and 0-60 in like 3.8 seconds or something, I know it's under 4 seconds.

well 3.73s top of 5th is 165mph. It's not like i'll ever be going that fast, i just wanna get the rpms down for better mpg, I'm sure the supra could power itself with 3.73s just fine, It's a torquey powerful engine, I've even see ppl pull ski du's with their supra.

Tongue tied equates keyboard tied? W58 trans and 3.73 rear end.

The reason I have been giving out that formula, the same one that site uses so you can plug in anything you want. Some sites only use drop down tables.

Just think, with my A340E and 3.73 I am at about 2400 RPM indicated at 70.

my NA had a 4.3 rear, also 3500 rpms at 70, and my top speed was like high 130 or maybe 140 at like 6600 rpms.. so idk where the top speed of 177 or 165 comes from. And also i was getting like 20 mpg average/mostly stop and go when i drove slow. And if your really going to spend money modding your car for MPG (maft, etc) thats ridiculous. Your gona gain like 3 mpg at most, and even if you drive a lot, like 100 miles a day say, your gona save 2$ a day on gas. You spend 500$ on a maft setup and tuning your gona have to drive 25000 miles for it to even pay for itself. And thats being optomistic! just buy a 500$ escort or civic or something. 30+ mpg on the highway.

yeah, i thought about it, but it would cost WAY to much for little or no gain. I really want a 3.73 rear end so i can get the revs lower in town and on the highway, I'm getting 20mpg right now, in the city, Don't know what highways like but i'm sure it's over 20.... With a 3.73 i'm hoping for 25 in town and Hopefuly more on the highway, I can't wait! Plus it'll keep me off the gas, since it'll be slower... 2700rpm at 70 would be so awesome!

Too bad you didnt ask this question like 2 years ago. I swapped a 3.73 into my ,originally equipped 4.30, n/a; 5 spd, supra. I did it because, I was driving over 70 miles a day and the gas was hurting my pocket. I cant recall the exact mpg I gained, but their was gain. The only downsides to it was, the acceleration suffered a bit, and my speedometer was no longer correct. I made a small chart from one of the gear ratio calculators and used it. Basing my speed off my tachometer and the chart. Overall, I would recommend the swap if you looking to increase your mileage. The car was really just my daily transportation and I didnt care about it being the fastest thing out.

A 4.30 rear, with 6500 redline (pre89), stock tire size, and w58 transmission, will top out at 152.8 (153 on the site posted)

The 177 comes from my 7500 redline on my 1jz

I'm totally going to do the swap, But i was wondering if there is anything wider than a 3.73 that would be swapable? I'm willing to play around with this, lol...

I think you would be doing yourself a serious disservice if you went any lower than 3.7 in an NA...

Hell, I wouldn't even go lower and I'm turbo.
