all im trying to say is that in normal conversation such as this, i dont see it bieng a problem. when theres something technical on discussion, i tighten up my wrighting so its easiest to understand, i even use descriptive educated words. also if i were to PM either you or someone else looking for imformation on say cam specs or tuning information, i would also clean it up.

you may think im uneducated sloppy or whatever, thats your, or anyone else who thinks thats opinion. but most everyone that knows me, such as a couple of big names around the *other* board, knows diffrent. i guess after seeing what i did with my car helped them look past.

i didnt mean to piss you off by mentioning bieng banned, i just dont want to give you the impression im flaming you or anything of the sort.

"You guy really irritate the shit out of me with that crap..." was that suposed to be "you guys"? im not poking fun, just wondering.

i focus my energy building my cars/truck rather the typing skills. im sorry for those of you that have a problem with it.

WOW! you say you will focus energy on building cars rather than your typing skills but then you waste energy and time by adding letters to words that don't even belong there. You could actually be SAVING that precious energy by typing correctly.

We're not forcing you to use big SAT words here.

Take some pride in how you present yourself in public.

If you don't respect others enough to make things easy to read then don't expect others to respect you enough to answer your questions.

He explained that one already. Using the "e" he is able to end the word and get on with the rest of the statement more quickly and get back to building his cars/truck.

At least the "the" was spelled correctly and not left as "tha".

i guess i dont exactly consider this public. its nothing more then text on a computer screen with a name saying who said it. if we were in person, then id consider it public.

i respect others, im not name calling like others here, nor am i putting anyone down. if im disrespecting anyone here because of how im typing, i think there taking this whole internet thing a little too seriously.

sorry i was about to say then instead of than and mispelled "writing". its called a typo, people makes them as id hope your aware. this place is feeling more and more like supraforums as the the known guys get backed up by the followers. :3d_frown:

You are the one that called out typos first. Review post #61

I just can't believe you are spending so much energy defending poor spelling, grammar and punctuation. If you make an effort and drop an 's' or get finger tied and use 'e' instead of 'an', no one is going to say a word. You, on the other hand, admit intentionally trying to use these method to communicate.

While we are on the subject of grammer, I'd like to suggest that those of us who know the difference between then/than start capitalizing the "e" or "a" where appropriate. For example, the words "more then" are rarely used together. I suggest we start typing "more thAn" until it is used correctly. I have seen "more then" used incorrectly more thAn once on this page alone (unless my post starts a new page).

Back on topic..........

I don't know what the big fuss is over this whole topic, other than the whole issue of the repost. I thouroughly enjoy answering questions on this board, but I am by no means the most knowlegable guy here on our cars. I search for questions that I can answer from my own experiences, or from learning it here out of repetition. There are several different levels of knowlege here. There's the newb, who usually will post repeat questions. There's guys who have been here for a while, but have never done one thing to their cars. There's guys who don't know what all the buttons do inside the car, but could rebuild a motor in their sleep. There's guys who can do body, or interior, or guys who have done it all. And, there are you old timers who know the answers to just about anything that can be asked. Different people post different levels of questions. I personally appreciate having you old timers there to answer some of the questions that I can't answer. But, I can see where a newcomer ( I hate the word newb) may not know who you guys are. The lower level guys like myself can answer some of those.

One thing I do hate though, is the elitist attitude that comes from the elite guys we have here. If you don't like how a post is written, skip it. There is not need to chastise the unknowing poster, or post yet another link to Mike's thread on dealing with the old school guys. I'm seing that every day now. Just let the thread starter get lesser responses from people such as myself, who know less, but don't mind re-answering

The way I see it, none of that is the issue. The issue is, he started the thread by saying he was to lazy to look up the answers, though surely it could be found.

Well, he keeps getting hammered for being lazy (as he may have stated himself). But, what the real issue is here, is that he, and many others are confused as how to properly come up with effective search terms. I am definitely one of those others. It's frustrating, and very time consuming to have to read through 500 results that have no relevance, but contain the word you searched for. I've done it many times, and will do it again, but I'd love to know better how to build my search.

I have noticed, if you use the Search at the top of the page it will do an 'AND' search throughout the entire forum. If you us the Advanced search it will do an 'OR' search. I don't know why that is.
If you right click and open results in new windows, your search terms will be in red. So you can scan the page for those.

Other than that, best help I can offer is in my sig ;)

That's good information in your sig. I'm glad you have it there, and have recently seen this. I just wish everybody could see it without having to catch it in a thread where you have been. And, BTW, my search terms are usually in red without right clicking.

Thanks. It's also in SC's post ;)

Yeah, I just open mine in a new window so I can read through the thread and not have to go back all the way to my search results. I know there are other ways to open threads in new window i.e. hold down the shift key.

Assuming I'm one of the aforementioned "elitists" I usually do ignore the kinds of posts mentioned. In fact I blow off dozens for many reasons, posts where I know the exact answer. Any hint of immaturity in all it's manifestations will get a poster squat from me. I even blow off posts if I don't like someone's sig or avatar. There's more than a few here who get that treatment. For those who feel that's wrong tough luck. As long as I'm doing this for free I have every right to do as I see fit. Just that this thread was a chance to vent as I suspect it was for others. It comes from still wanting to help those who don't get it but at the same time refusing to compromise my standards. If you call that elitist than so be it.

ok this is the last one, just wana clear it up.

i didnt call out a typo, i wasnt even sure it is was one. as i said i wasnt poking fun, i was just wondering if it was directed solely at me, or anyone else who mentions bieng banned.

im not defending poor spelling, im saying not everyones perfect, and just because someone isnt a good speller, or isnt that great with grammar, or misses capatilizeation, doesnt mean there a bad person. i never said i intentionally use wrong spellings and bad grammar to communicate, i said its a habit. its something i do without realizing it untill after someone points it out to me.

its like when you have a stuborn lighter, and u keep trying to light it over and over again, and it finally lights but your in the rythm of trying to light it, and you miss the flame. you didnt let it go out on purpose, it was just the habit of trying to light it.

peace out.:bigthumb:

Since I dont use windows its not a problem, my Apple key works fine. I also use tabs all the time.

However, I do hate the search term options on forums. Why cant everyone adopt the google system. I find using -/+ "" easier and more effective over AND, OR.

You sir are one of the elitists that I wish more were like. There are those though who are above me in the knowlege chain, and aspire to be there with you on your level, but are not quite there yet. Some of these people display an attitude, as I perceive it, of "I'm better than you, and I don't know why they even let you post" when I constantly see " go read this" pointing to Mike's thread. Mike's thread was very blunt, and it needed to be. It has been put up as a sticky for everyone to read. I read it quite a while ago,and try to keep it in mind when I post (most of the time).

There have been a few threads I have started, where I posted really hoping to get an Airplane response. You airplane guys are awesome! I missed you while you were gone. And I will probably be posting a thread sometime this afternoon, hoping for one of you guys' help. It'll be a wiring issue, but I'm taking a break now from trying to figure it out myself. It doesn't look like what I have is going to work, no matter how I try to fix it.
