wow, i wasnt sure the lack of capitalization was a huge deal. ever think my shift key doesnt work? it becomes a pain using the caps lock so ive gotten in the habbit of not using caps. i used plenty of punctuation so im not sure where 'illegible post' comes from?

if you cant read something without the help of capital letters at the begging of each sentence then.... i guess im lazy.

on top of all that, i still keep saying that i do search before every post i make. however, every reply calls me lazy because i dont search?

There's plenty of punctuation missing in just that post right there. :nono:
If your shift key doesn't work get a keyboard that isn't broken.

On-topic:
As isnms pointed out, I gave you shit because you claimed to have read the thread I linked you to. However it was obvious you either read the first few posts or just browsed the thread and didn't actually read. There was one brand that was recommended by a majority of people and some how you didn't catch that.

Yes laziness is frowned upon. also Jimi said as well if people searched you wouldn't have to wade through so many threads. If you're too lazy to even bother to try and find the information yourself and not have it spoon fed to you, why would anyone with some knowledge want to help you?

This is not the fault of the ones with answers, this is the fault of the ones like the thread starter for not searching. We wouldn't have all those threads IF PEOPLE WOULD SEARCH, now would we?

its everyones fault, this thread will never end, its just going to go back and forth.

you cant blame either the people with the answeres or the people with questions. this is a disscussion board, just type the sentence to answer the question. i could say your just as lazy as i am for not capatalizing my sentences.

lazyness on presentation of text and grammar. that topic i hate. i feel if you can read it, its fine. im not going to lie, i talk on AIM alot and i dont really care much about my spelling, puncuation or capatalization at beginings of sentences. its not lazyness, its habit. its the internet, just because the beginings of sentences arent capatalized doesnt mean you cant read it.

people are lazy for not just typing the sentence to answer the question, and some people are lazy becasue they dont want to spend 20 minuites searching for it. some people type with perfect grammar, spelling and puncuation, some people just type to get the point across.

people are people.

i kno im not going to change the way i type just because someone online doesnt like it, and i kno there not going to answer every question asked because that was other people want. i have my habits and they have theres.

If you cant find the answer to your commonly asked question in the first or second page of the search results, then you suck at the internet.

The problem with posting online is that it is usually the only way people get to know you. You always want to put your best foot forward.

Posting without proper punctuation, grammar, spelling, and/or capitalization will only make others think you are a punk and not worth the time.

If you take your time and create a well thought out post then people will go out of their way to help.

If you cannot be bothered to make a post that doesn't hurt my brain when I attempt to read it then I can't be bothered to try and help you out. There are a lot of others on here who feel this way as well.

Broken Keyboard? You can get a replacement for less than $10.

No, you are an idiot, and I'll explain why.

In order for people to communicate effectively, you must have language. The whole "I'll write it my way, you write it yours" approach is bullshit.

Ordinary language is barely adequate for communication to start with. Since humans aren't telepathic, we need agreed upon rules for verbal and written communication.

Language is the only reason we can communicate at all.

Since language is so imperfect, often communication breaks down, we misunderstand each other. That happens even when we all put our best effort into it. Something key is missing.

And then people like you come along. Sloppy, undereducated, lazy, ignorant and crass.

Simply put, you aren't worth the effort. You do realize that the people around here with the highest knowledge of the car tend to also be the ones intolerant of idiocy?

Listen, for all I know, you're brilliant in the real world. Out here on the forum, I can't see you, I can't hear you, all I have to go on is the quality of your writing.

If I had to judge you by your post alone, I'd guess you were a semi-retarded eleven year old with an attitude problem...

oh my god.. so well put ::golf claps::
I really don't understand how people cannot grasp the concept of proper typing etiquitte.
I look at it as speaking. When one of those fake gangsta' or even real gangsta's talk to me "y'no wha i is sayin", I make the conversation as quick and uninvolved as humanly possible. I can't stand those of whom butcher the english language. The term "a'ight" when not used jokingly really bugs me, due to the fact that people have lazied their way out of pronouncing two letters. Alright is not a hard word to say, yet it gets butchered down to aight or a'ite... that's just sad.
Same goes for the "txt-talk"
"ya i no" is not and never will be a comprehensible sentence. stop.

Thats why instead of analizing how someone types, pay attention to what they say, its a much better gauge of charachter. based on what you wrote only paying attention to typing skills, you would be the best guy on the planet. i pay attention to what people say more then there typing skills, and based on that i would say that your acting childish by over exagerating a couple of misspelled words and lack of capatilization.

im not trying to start with you, and im not attacking you, i dont want you to get that idea. but to read my post and somehow have enough trouble to say that my post was "Sloppy, undereducated, lazy, ignorant and crass" makes me almost think that maybe your typing is good but reading is a bit off unless that was more of a general statement rather then directed at me.

im not looking to argue with you, and im not going to continue because it will prolly end up in getting me banned if this doesnt already.

I'll weigh in here again.

If you have something I want, and you have no need to sell it, I had better be awfully damn nice when I come asking for it. The fact that someone is asking me for advice instead of a physical object doesn't figure into the equation.

Another bit to consider.

When someone asks silly questions, and I think it's too easy to find the answers by searching, or I think they are annoying for the way they speak, or whatever, I just ignore the thread. I don't scream at people to search, I don't bitch about their language, I don't call them names - I just don't post at all. This bothers me not a bit, there are plenty of people who post respectful questions with perfect grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and with meaningful thread titles to boot, so I'm not running out of people to help.

Out of everything you said, this is the only thing that pisses me off.

I have NEVER banned someone from disagreeing with me... You guy really irritate the shit out of me with that crap...

Back on topic, your point is taken, examined and disagreed with. You are a lingusitc slob. That's the simple fact of the matter. You continue time and time again to defend your lack of giving a shit about language. Which is fine. But you'll never get my help (or quite a few other peoples help) with your car beacuse of it. I don't waste my time on people who type like you do, it's generally the indicator of other sloppy thinking and habits.

When you go for a job interview, be sure to wear dirty, wrinkled clothes and hope that the interviewer can "look past" that to the person underneath.

I hate to tell you but the world doesn't work that way. Keep presenting as a loser and people will treat you like one. That's a fact of life.

Agreed. At my office, if you submit a resume / cover letter and it is anything less than perfect, you won't get a call. We just file your application in the trash.

This forum isn't a job interview board, nor should it be, but that by itself is not a reason to relax on the proper spelling and grammar.

Yes, you can type like a child on AOL and yes, we can all understand it if we take the time to really read each sentence, decode the real meaning behind the jumble of words, and then try to figure out what the problem is and present a solution.

Do you see the problem with this?

Not only do the people trying to help have another barrier to work through, but every single person in the future who has the same problem and searches for help will encounter your post and have to expend the effort to sort out the horrible written English.

OR

You could send an extra 15 seconds during your posts and write plain, easy to understand English. The post itself becomes transparent and suddenly people can focus on what you are saying, not how you are saying it. Pictures help too :)

It's like you are being recorded, and your personal history is stored within the SM vault for everyone to see. Don't look like a jackass. My $0.02
