Well I have can across TT pistons/rods with new NPR rings, and ARP rod bolts. For $120
I'm thinking about a phase 2 of this build. Have my worn out R154 sent to drift motion for full rebuild. 2jzge piston and rods swapped for TT. Add relocation filter kit for oil and add oil cooler. Rebuild wire harness for application. Add GE iacv too ffim.
Again this is just thinking. This is all probably over kill for 450-500 HP.

Wow, that torque really falls off fast. Losing easily 220 rwtq over 2500 rpms.

Having that torque number that early, I don't think you'd get a set of tires to hook on the street. Looks like it just really ramps up there. Nice HP curve though.

I am planning on the same build 500ish hp on pump gas. What made you stick with the stock pistons instead of going with stronger TT pistons? I've read 500hp is really pushing it on GE pistons.

well i would go to GTE pistons since i have them on hand but ive read on the club lexus fourm that they are pushing them to 600hp even to 700hp on e85. and 500whp seems atainable with 93 octane. and yes i have messaged daveH and his exact words are "you can get about 500 on stock na pistions and tt head gasket, but that is pushing it on pump gas" so even at 450hp thats fine until aem updates to flex fuel on

food for thought>>>>http://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...ression-10-1-round-1-641hp-round-2-700hp.html

Ah I have read the NA pistons are not terrible but for my goal and way I am going about my build I want peace of mind lol. Overkill is my motto pretty much. I thought about the E85 route since I've heard it's cheaper than regular gas but it's kind of hard to find in my area, so I rather not go through that hassle.

Wow so the stock GE bottom end with a TT head gasket and ARP studs will do 600whp well. That is very interesting indeed but what about the GE VVTI pistons? That is the motor I am more interested in since that is what I have. I read left and right that the VVTI motors have weaker pistons and rods.

EDIT: So much food lol. I read the stock piston rings and ring landings won't hold up to 500+hp for long maybe that is just for the VVTI motor.

well hold on a minute ill try to find a thread on vvti pistion and hg combinations to compression. i had seen a really good thread on it but didnt save it since im non vvti. but there is good quick torque to be made with the vvti head

i remember it being on supraforums

NA pistons hold a lot more than 500rwhp for a lot longer than a little while.

NA vs TT pistons aren't going to make much different power from one another.

If you are worried about the NA pistons, just replace them. Most people don't have a problem with them since they'll make what a TT piston will.
