I just drove from miami to naples with one stop half way. when I was 75miles deep I smelled gear oil (like petro oil on the road) at least that's what I thoughth it was. when I got of the high way I saw a bit of smoke coming fron the hood but motor oil pressure was ok, now I was doing 75mph all the way. I turn off my ac the radio to hear any noise or wierd sound, and there we had it. the tranny was makig a sound on every gear I change like if it was humming and it was lagging as well. ??? oil leak??? Help please I stuck 100miles from home. I need opinions on what I should look for with bassic tools such ass screw drivers and 8-10-12-14-17 mm wrench. Thanks. Oh yeah and 85 dollars in my pocket.

Check under the car to see any signs of gear oil, or any oil for that matter.

I read that you wrote "Every gear change." But is this an automatic or 5spd?

Unfortunately the 5spd doesn't have a dip stick, so you won't really know if you're low on gear oil. :(

You need to identify where that smoke was coming from.
You may have crapped out the tranny mount, and the transmission is sagging allowing the gear oil to drip out the tail.
All we can do is guess. :dunno:

I drove to a freinds house to drop something off as an emergency, he lives in this city and I'm at his house. But I just want to get my car running it's my baby and I don't want to leave her here. Yes it's MT and the car roll in nuetral just fine. It just feels hevy while in gear.
