See that's the way I should have said it ;-)
We have tuned very few cars with WATER injection, and there is one thing I don't like about it. If the car makes power WITH it, it will be on or past the ragged edge of safety without it. That is just my take on it, and I don't mean to sound...
When you just aligned everything you set cam timing, related to the crank.
The 10-12 degrees we are talking about has to do with ignition timing, based on crank position. 10* is actually 10 degrees before top dead center (BTDC). and it's just a reference number set by the ecu when you jumper...
Nope, the ECU will run a set amount of timing based on load and RPM. If your fuel is good enough to not trip the knk sensors then your ecu will give you the maximium amount of timing in the map. Adding higher octane fuel will do nothing @ that point.
Now if you advance the base timing then...
An intake manifold leak on #6 runner can cause a "no worky" condition. Did you use paper gaskets or factory toyota? Are factory toyota gaskets paper on the 7M?
If it's anything like our shop the car is either waiting for parts, waiting for the mechanic to find time to work on it, or it's complete and waiting for the owner to pay for the work.
latest comment from scammer:
Hello again,
I said the car is in Copell , TXbut did not said I'm there also. Sorry
for that. I have a new job in Phoenix AZ actually and will not be there
to hand it over or something like that. This is why we'll work through
eBay Motors Customer...
so did I... here is his reply:
I'm really sorry for this late reply but I've been very busy lately and
away from a computer. The car is located in Coppell, TX in excellent
running and body condition, no flaws on it or any other mechanical
problems. It has a clear title and it will be...
The owner of the car should contact e-bay and have the ad removed and the seller banned.
I am just around the corner from Coppell. Maybe I'll go have a "look" at this supra...
FYI the MK2 MR2 turbo has an oil level light, basically the light comes on if your approx. 1 quart low. The sensor is a float-type and is very fragile. They are also a little pricey, but if you forget to check your oil it might save you a motor...
Did you reset the ECU to see if the code 24 returned? I think Jet jock is right it's just a leftover code. There is something else wrong.
I'd check the fuel pump for voltage when cranking and that the circuit opening relay is staying energized after cranking.
Don't worry about throttle position, map your timing out by load(kpa) and RPM.
Build a base map, but tune it on a dyno. That way you can verify the tuning with real numbers, instead of the ole butt dyno..."I think that felt faster"
On my MR2T I'm running 30* @ idle.
Low load (35kpa)...
