    BHG - Now What?

About 2 or 3 months ago I started noticing coolant coming out of my reservoir bottle. I saw abosolutely no oil/water mix after oil change. I was thinking the worst (anal retentive that I am) so I bought a NAPA Block Test Kit. Sure enough, the blue fluid turned yellow. So while I asume the...

    TPS Question

I plan to buy a new throttle position sensor for my 89 NA. One of the plastic elliptical holes broke where you screw it onto the throttle body and it moves around somewhat. Here is what I would like to know. When I buy it, do I just screw it on right out of the box or does it need to be...

Hey Surf, Why don't ya e-mail me at j_calautti@yahoo.com and if you ain't too far I'll drive over and see if I can help. I just went through a "fast idle" problem and got that solved. As payback, you can show me the junkyard with 6 MKIII's. I'm sure they'll have something I can use. In my...

    Idle Adjustment

I am having trouble adjusting my throttle down the last 200 to 300 rpms. It idles at 1000, but I do not believe it is an electronic problem. When the gas pedal is depressed, the linkage separates a part from the dash-pot sub-assembly. When released, they come back together. If at that point I...

anyone have a spare N/A intake u can donate?

I want to change my valve cover gaskets and need to remove Y pipe at intake. There is a gasket there and the TSRM says it is part no. 17128. Autozone has no idea what I'm talkin about. Is there a name for that gasket? Scruffboy

    Any octane booster users here?

I have heard that with older cars, these octane boosters and "fuel cleaners" can remove carbon deposits, which may not be the best thing because sometimes that is what is keeping the valves sealed. Knock it out and you can mess up an engine that was running well. My 2 cents Scruffboy

    Dylan's How-To: O2 Sensor Replacement

I bought a Bosch O2 sensor for 50 US dollars and had good results. Very simple install, two bolts on exhaust manifold and reconect wire. Spent half hour looking for sub-sensor till I realized I was looking at pics of California smog set-up, lol. James in New Jersey
