hey guys, i took off my spark plug wires to change the plugs and when i pulled out the wires in all 6 cylinders i had oil at least 2 inches deep, I know that isnt normal, my car runs fine but i know the oil isnt supposed to be in there. I'm thinking valve cover gaskets but besides changing the gaskets what else should I do?

if your sparkplug boots dont seal 100% it possible to have oil from your valve covers leak in. also was the spark plug loose when you took it out? and did you check to make sure your valve cover bolts were tight? sometimes they have a tendency to loosen up over time just be careful not to strip them. you can always replace the valve cover screws with hex bolts of the same size, length, and thread pitch

Ok thanks, I cleaned out the oil already, the spark plugs were tight. Yeah the valve cover screws were loose, I tightened them down for now and I got new valve cover gaskets. I hope this solves the problem

I had the oil in the spark plug chamber problem (though not 2 inches worth), so I ran out and bought new valve cover gaskets. Went through all the trouble of gettin to the old ones and they were fine. I couldn't tell the difference from the new ones. I did buy hex head bolts with a rounded washer bottom to replace the phillips bolts and a new set of grommets. I think the problem is just keepin the bolts down. Don't go nuts and tighten the shit out of em, but every now and then check to see if there is a little play and then snug em down.
