I have a coolant leak coming from the lines behind my engine. Its a pretty fast drip and was wondering if this is a common problem or if there was a aditive that would seal small leaks in the coolant. Ive heard of putting ground black pepper in your coolant to fix leaks but that seems a little...
Well i just got my motor in and was putting the finishing touches on it, and when i was putting in the oil dipstick tube it didnt fit. My last motor just had a hole in the block where the tube would fit in, this one(the new motor) has about a 2" section of bevelled tubing that comes out like the...
First, We tapped the oil pan on the 240 to return the oil and used a "T" section by the oil pressure sensor to feed it oil. No theres no magic hole in the block specially for that purpose. I decided to go KA-T cuz IMO the sr20 is a stupid idea, why pay like 2500-3500 for a 2 liter, when you...
Omg I think im the happiest f*ckin kid alive at this moment right here. Rotated the disributor 180 and crank crank crank...purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Im flippin out! Ive waited months for this and shes finnally alive! Gotta do sum tweaking to do yet tho before shes road worthy, there is a leak in...
What i mean is that on the distributor cap, wire #1 is on the top, but as far as i can tell you can postition the cap in three different ways, #1 on bottom, top and left side, seeing as it has three bolt holes...
Ok well i drained all my fuel cuz i thought it was pretty old and when i took it out it looked like REALLY dark apple juice, i know gas is ussually a tint of yellow but this was way too dark to seem normal to me although it was plenty flameable when i soaked a small peice of paper towel with it...
just pulled a few plugs, 1,2,5,6 and its pretty wet in there, the plugs are brand new so ill just let them dry too. I put a heater in the garage to help warm it up in there, might make it easier to start. I just hope my battery still has enough after this torture to it...
my gas tank pressurizes, few starts i remove the fuel cap and it goes "pssshh" not crazy pressurized but well enough to hear it. This is frustrating me, if there arent results soon, itll probly sit in the garage for another month before i can get the initiative to go figure it out...
does it matter which way the distributor cap is facing when its installed? When its at TDC the distributor is pointing straight up and the #1 plug wire is on top.
Ok well i took off the fuel return line and some fuel spilled out and then i turned the key to the on position and no fuel came out of the line, i tried to put vacuum on the line with my mouth and still nuthin came out of the line... any suggestions?
ill do the spark test right now, i check all the fuses, and its the flapper style air meter, always thought that was called a vein air meter. It emits a half-burnt fuel smell...
Alright I finnally got the whole new motor installed and hooked up ready to go. But heres the deal, it wont fire... The motor turns over perfectly and it builds oil pressure great. But I cant audibly hear the fuel pump from inside the car when i turn the key, should i be able to hear it pretty...
Well i just found another part my roomate broke... just happens to be one of the little tubes on the power steering valve. its the side that connects to the intake. i was wonering if this needed to be connected to work or not. since its before the throttle body its just like being vented to...
I just got done removing the motor without the tranny attached and now that its done I wish I took the tranny out with it. Getting the splines out of the torque converter was b*tch and getting the motor back in was 10x harder. But if you were going to do it this way. Use a jack to support the...
Ok so I was hooking up the wiring harness and couldnt find where one of the VSV valves go because it didnt look like any of the ones on the diagram. Turns out it was because the little cylinder can type hat thing on it is broken off of it. I was wondering if this is a vital part of the valve or...
One more thing. Noticed last night I was installing these two solid lines that ran across the passenger side of the motor about 3/4 inch wide and connected to eachother. They connected to the water pump on this side and go back behind the block of the engine(to the other side of the engine)...
I was wondering if anyone here could give me a link or post a picture of the fuel line diagram for the 7m. I cant remember if the plate that bolts over the hole in the block with the solid line attached to it is a fuel line return or not. And where does the pressure line with the banjo-bolt bolt...
