what is to torque spec for the flywheel

Haha i guess i should have been able to get there from the first post, thanks again tho. One more. I don't see any type of spacer between the flywheel and the crank. Is there one? I know either this supra had one, or my acura CL did. I think it was the CL.

Opps, left out head dowels. Problems?

I try to keep a clean mouth. Besides, a long chain of explitives is rarely an objective way to describe an opinion. Jdub- I think toyota should have made the block and head seal the oil galley w/o the timing cover. I am pretty sure i got it just right though:

Opps, left out head dowels. Problems?

I took care of pretty much every thing on that list. My big banjo bolt actually deformed a little while i was removing it, so I need a new one. Probably dealer only? And for the timing cover- I had it machined, and I applied RTV to the "top" section where it meets the head. I also used the...

Opps, left out head dowels. Problems?

I edited my last post. I didn't mean to direct any anger your way. Clearly the torque spec you quoted was correct before. well jetjock wasn't contributing, he was just flaming. And I edited my post after I realised i offended Jdub (whom I have seen in many threads, usually posting quite...

    Boost Issues Noob

I have limited experience w/ stock supras. Most factory boost gauges aren't known for their accuracy though. I would recommend getting an atermarket boost gauge for the car. But you try to find other leaks as well, look for rotting or hardened dry hoses in the induction system.

Opps, left out head dowels. Problems?

Excellent, look at teh second paragraph. Now go read my first post. HE ANSWERED MY QUESTION. Why would I need the dowels? They more accurately locate the head. THANKS! What did this contribute to the thread? Thanks for your uninformed analysis of my abilities. Look! another answer... I asked...

Opps, left out head dowels. Problems?

Ok I called my friend's dad... Whom I would consider an authority on engine rebuilding. He said leaving them out is a no-no. I took the whole thing apart and the viton coating on the gasket looked fine, it is back toether, and I got the manifolds and wiring harness (mostly) on it. And since...

Opps, left out head dowels. Problems?

Last night I decided to move on without installing them. Now the turbo is on, brackets, fuel rail, etc. How coult those two dowerls locate the head more precisely than 14 studs? and will someone please answer this question: IF I REMOVE THE HEAD, WILL THE VITON COATING STILL BE OKAY?

Opps, left out head dowels. Problems?

NOOOOOOOOOO! Has anyone installed ARPs without removing the cam before? And do I have to do anything with my head gasket now? or just slide in the dowels and don't touch the gasket?

Opps, left out head dowels. Problems?

So I made another mistake. I put the head on the engine without putting the two little dowel pins in that help locate the head on the block. I can think of two reasons toyota put those pins in the block: 1: So you can correctly place the head on the block before you install the head BOLTS...

Reviving my tired 7M-GTE for a swap (w/ pics)

Re plastigaged the crank bearings, they are good. I am not sure if I have the two matching sensors under the intake manifold (where it would be) in the right holes in the block... Oil the oil pressure sending unit on the exhaust side. Anyone know? Got a lot done, heat is torqued to 120...

7MGTE rebuild question about crank specs

My TSRM is a 1995 publish date for the 1989 supra engine only. It states standard clearance of .030mm-.048mm, with the maximum clearance being .07mm. I did re-plastigage the two bearings that were on the loose side, and they came in at .038mm. I made sure to clean every singe surface and the...
