i've been reading your progress with the build, and i have to congratulate you on the progress so far! i know this shit takes a lot of time and can get MAJORLY frustrating from time to to time when it seems everything is where it's supposed to be then it turns out to be something you never...
you know...i don't understand why they paint the pressure plate...haha, you'll never see the thing aside from when the tranny comes out of the car, but moving parts from eBay are never good...a friend of mine took that risk with a turbo, and ended up with the compressor blade just loosing chunks...
that's an awesome video...that Supra reminds me so much of how mine ran for a while with open downpipe...unfortunately i was stupid enough to cut the pipe, so it was fucking loud
because the whole point is to try and build boost while next to your opponent, so when it's time to go you can pull strong with full boost, especially with larger turbos...like the Holset :3d_frown:
i don't know man...i recently raced against a friend's '07 Dodge 1500 Hemi pickup, and when i, "brake boost" we're usually at a roll from 15-MPH and i'm just lightly applying the brakes in the manual transmission, while applying the gas enough to build around 5-PSI so when we go, the turbo...
i've always heard the first thing to buy with a Turbo car is the aftermarket boost gauge, and wideband A/F ratio gauge for when you start tuning...:boink:
i'm going to have to agree with the post above me, things aren't always as simple as we'd like them to be in order to obtain lower gas prices...unfortunately there's just a lot going on causing ups, and more ups...from what i hear, it's only going to get worse, :3d_frown:
yeah, i was really fortunate to find the transmission in the condition i did as far as internals go, i just swapped my short shifter, linkage, and bushings from my old tranny with the non-turbo motor, :biglaugh:
well...if you can get past the tree huggers, and traffic it's not too bad...some pretty good bars/pubs out here, and a few Supra owners here and there hiding in the brush, :icon_bigg
honestly...i agree with just purchasing a transmission from the good'ol junkyard...i bought my motor, tranny, and other parts from a car that had been sitting for over a year down in Schertz, TX...but that same motor's been treating me good for the past two years on some TLC, and the...
ha, gas prices are the exact reason i don't drive it as much...mods still come and go, but the gas prices just keep me from enjoying the mods as much, :3d_frown:
yeah, i just moved into a new apartment, so we're still unpacking everything, but once i find that f**kin' USB connection for the camera, we're ready for take-off, haha
hey, just wanted to let everyone know i'm probably going to be pretty common around here as i just got wind of a Supra forum, and owning Supras, (MKIII mostly) for six years i hope to provide, and get as much as possible
