The staggered tire sizes is common for cars with rear wheel drive and a good amount of power. The larger rear tires help with traction during acceleration. It could also be done for handling balance, I suppose.
As far as running a 50 profile in back and 45 in front, that would make the rear...

I used to upgrade my computer (desktop PC) every two years, but now I think I've reached a level of performance that I'm happy with. As long as I don't need some new game or upgrade to Vista (never gonna happen) then it's more than adequate for my needs.
