IM wondering how many people actually understand that the Mayan's did NOT predict the end of the world. Still not sure how that got started.. lol... I think it was some newscaster...
You cant ask that question without specifying your end goals. If I was to answer.. it would be all over the map.
Whats your final plan with the engine? Any BPU parts going on? (like upgraded turbo/injectors/etc..)
You are going to want to go with ARP Studs (they come with instructions...
I honestly didn't think it was possible to buy a car today without ABS (new car). I dont believe its mandated by law... but I just assume all cars have it.. never really considered it.
I would definitely talk to your insurance first though and possibly even the police... or a lawyer.
A little...
Yeah, but when people pour 40-100k into a MK3.. it would be nice to think that they could ever top 20k in value.. lol. I think the most I have seen a MK3 for sale for is 19k and personally I thought it was undervalued.
Just nature of the beast...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wont pumping the pedal disable ABS on our cars? I know in my Odyssey it did. If ABS engaged and you let up and then pressed again quickly, the ABS computer would disengage.
To the OP though, you didn't really ask a question about the ABS delete. You originally...
I think that the problem is most people assume because the ABS is pulsing and they are sliding that they would be able to stop quicker if it wasn't pulsing. Its a natural reflex because what the brakes are doing isn't working.
I slid into an intersection with the ABS pulsing.. and my reaction...
Someone in need. Remember.. Canadian parts are like 400% higher for OEM sometimes.. lol. Its incredible how expensive it can be if you dont have time to wait.
I think if I lived in the States I would be about 9,000 less in my 88 than where I am now.. just on parts.
In my dreams... 10 years from...
I am currently driving a 1990 AT MK3 (targa/turbo) that I picked up cheap. Interior is near mint.. and it is a good strong runner. I keep finding these cars for nothing and cant walk by without picking them up. My wife hates that... lol.
Currently own 3 MK3's.. 1988 (my baby) in the shop...
Dont bother. People worry about weight when they are trying to eek out 100th's of a second. Your gonna overthink your car and end up spending money for nothing....
Best plan for your car is to fix the clutch OEM-style. Enjoy the car. Then...if you are interested in setting up a BPU type...
I would bleed the lines first though. (prior to rebuilding the MC or replacing)
Using a line with a clean bottle works very well if there is a lot of air. Always bleed the farthest distance from the master cylinder first.
Faulty MC should be identified by loss of fluid wouldn't it? (never...
length... no. line composition and condition.. yes.. I would never change a left brake line without changing the right one too... (even though the difference might be minimal or none at all.. I like doing both sides at once)
This is when I bought it... (prior to garage dust...)
Would take a minimal amount of bodywork and paint to turn this into a pristine 87 Supra... full original leather interior (including the original stereo).
7MGE 5 speed
I bought a 87 Supra NA hardtop about 2 years ago. Picked up a 7MGE to replace the one in it due to either a fallen valve or busted rod. Car is in really nice condition and I paid less than 1000.00 for everything.
Now the sad part is... I sold a knock sensor out of the car for 100.00. The...
Stock 7MGTE? Stay OEM. Smoothest ride and strong enough for a stocker.
I went with a Spec 2+ clutch but that was after upping the injectors to 550 and putting on a 57 Trim CT26. No idea what it is like yet because there is too much snow to drive my car up this far north...
