Okay, so as my engine is back in the car and all the hoses/wires getting repaired/replaced/upgraded, I notice that my VSV is "bypassed".
Apparently, the solenoid on the bottom of the unit is prone to failure over time. So the quick fix is to connect the vacuum hose that come from the driver...
You shouldn't drive the car until its diagnosed correctly and I don't think you want to use that mechanic unless he's free.
You could end up in an accident if the car fails at a bad time.
I'm not the best at diagnosing this kind of issue so I will now out in the hopes that someone else assists...
7M or 2j.. hmmm... all depends.
In my case.. I had to get a whole new shortblock.. and should have went 2J with a single turbo. Same engine, but the 2J is beefed up and has improvements.
its kind of a 6 of one, half a dozen of the other situation. 2J is better, but 7M is native... I stuck with...
I suggested truck simply because you drive it differently. You dont have to worry about ducking as you get into the car... you sit high on the road.. its kinda the opposite of a Supra.
When I get tired of something, I swing the other way to get a break. If I went from my Supra into a Corolla.. I...
These cars usually reflect the owners... They are far better than a lot of today's cars when maintained and repaired properly... Unfortunately there are a lot of people without the skill to do it properly fixing them. I see far too many cars that should be repaired bumper to bumper to fix the...
What I meant is that it could be a whole raft of things so is difficult to diagnose online. I am by far no expert and I know what it feels like to be hit with Supra gremlins. Most of my advice comes from personal experience. I would guess if the vehicle flooded.. Your fuel pump is okay. Black...
"no human in the past 1000 years is known to have been killed by a meteorite or by the effects of one impacting."
I was looking for similar information regarding meteorites and Supras.. because I would be really really pissed off if I finish my car only to have it killed by a meteorite...
Get rid of the MK3.. get a truck.
After you drive the truck for a couple years... come back and pick up a used Supra fully built, etc.. that is done to your tastes for about 1/4 what it would cost you to do yours.
Problem solved.
elbow grease = scratch/rub marks...
Heat gun and a plastic blade will help (if your careful)
There is a rubber roller for a drill that body shops use to remove tapegum from cars. It will peel off all the gummy stuff and leave the paint alone providing you dont press hard. Talk to a body shop...
After writing a suggestion, I read your past threads. Perhaps you should finish your other threads. It seems you have other issues with your car as well and are running on a really tight budget. You lost me after the alternator replacement thread.. that you never finished... seems you thought...
lol.. Im in the same boat with ya. Getting car back in a week or so and everything that was questionable has been rebuilt (including replacing the alternator brushes even though it wasn't giving me problems).
Problem is.. snow and my car do not mix.. lol.
Lol.. MORE!!! I love this. I can race these damn cars ... no worry about tickets.. no fuel costs... no blown engine...
That boost cut was hurting me though...
only thing missing is the head tossing back into the headrest... what speeds are you guys letting off at?
lol.. Fixed my "string" above...
I have an auto transmission, but not familliar with its upgrades, etc.. (My 88 is R154 5 speed, my 90 is auto.. and just a temp MK3 while mine is in the shop)
I think David LeBlanc on this form does valve body upgrades in the approved vendor forum for a very...
E85 is unfamiliar for me cause I'm a Canuck. I have read discussions here where you may have to do things to your fuel lines.. But it will give you a lot better knock control.
I just had me engine rebuilt with wiseco pistons and 550's with a 57 trim (car is still in shop). I also went cometic...
