No, a manual MK3 is only 3300 lbs (roughly) not 3800 lbs... the auto is closer to 3600. Most sports cars of that era are in that weight range.. In order to sacrifice weight (OEM) you have to get rid of parts... I like that they left safety alone.
I left the road in an 80 Celica wearing no...
In this case... I hope (and thats a large one.. because the world has failed my expectations so many times...) that the court will be very reasonable regarding this. I got off of one ticket just explaining to the judge that I failed to notice the speed sign because it was behind a large truck...
Thanks! and Happy New Year to you.
damn its hard when you see the engine in the car and have to wait for the little things (plus the tune) before you can see if it was money well-spent... sigh...
I grew up with cars without cats.. it was when they introduced cats that I noticed the smell... and for some reason.. it was mostly from Fords... I believe it was odoriferous hydrogen sulfide and ammonia being created. Not sure if this has been addressed because I have only smelled it once in...
I would think there are a couple answers.. however.. being prepared with them is a little harder.. because you tend to panic a little when pulled over.
You could do a "I believe I was doing the speed limit... but apparently I missed a sign somewhere" or "I assume I was driving too fast...
I have huge issues with "speeding" per se...
Yes speed kills, but only when the driver is doing something silly. I don't agree with a 60 mph highway speed limit because of a few things... One of them being that the speed limit was developed during the 50-60's with cars that were nothing like...
Yeah, Points is like a massive assist for us drivers.. should exist everywhere really. You tell them what happened, send them the ticket (scan via email is fine), pay them with credit card.. never leave your chair.. lol. They have been doing traffic tickets for like 30 + years so they know what...
I would take photos of the roadway, timestamped showing no speed signs. Then I would point to the fact that you have a very clean driving record and do your best to follow all speed limits, but in this case you had to judge what was appropriate because of the lack of any speed signs and assumed...
I am not running a cat because
a. I dont need one legally
b. I dont need one environmentally
There is a good argument for both sides of the fence, but remember.. this is a car that sees about 3000 km of road per year. That equals about 4-8 tanks of fuel if I'm lucky.
If it was a daily...
Very sharp looking.. nice to see this still rolling along : )
I never noticed how much the side door moldings say Supra... kinda miss them when they are gone...
The Raptor DDP is very well thought out. I found the seperator tab to be a bit longer than what I could use, but it was very quick to shave it 1/4". If I recall its ceramic coated inside and out and is a true 3" start to finish. Hooking mine up to a HKS twin tip 3" catback (my cats are all removed).
rebuilding an engine isn't a "simple" thing. I wouldn't do it at just "any" shop either. If they dont understand the 7M.. they wont know what to look for.
Generally... if your head is good, it needs to be lapped for a metal headgasket. At that point your going to want ARP headstuds (imo). If...
I got the Raptor Racing Integrated DDP and it is a solid piece although a bit pricey. The one thing I can warn you about is to make sure the flanges are ground straight/flat because the massive amount of welding occuring at the flange tends to warp them a bit. You dont want a whole lot of bolt...
