I revived this because I thought that the post #3 (linked above) was really interesting.. lol. Only 1193 1992 MK3's?? No wonder I hardly ever see one...
I may be overthinking this. I like to build a bit over what I need to prevent going back to upgrade an upgrade. That is, as long as it won't cause a problem.
The fuel rail was just because I have the intake off and new injectors in, so it's relatively cheap to upgrade it now. However, I can't...
You got 40 grand.. I would consider selling mine... lol. And its not done yet either!
I think most of us have to decide that we aren't really building to sell if we are going to do it properly. The value on the market isn't high enough to compensate for the work involved. My car is more solid...
There are 2 denso pumps, 280 lph and 340 lph I believe. I'm not sure which I have.
I think I will just watch the fuel pressure and possibly add the fuel return as well. I'll have to look at those tires. Going to try to do a balance between good traction and drivability. We may be getting...
That would make sense, although I wont be maxing the flow on the 1000 cc's at the power level I will end up at. Im thinking that I may end up somewhere between 420 and 500 rwhp with this setup (that's not pushing it to extremes). I could run at 22 psi on this turbo, but think I want to limit it...
Wondering if I need to upgrade my fuel rail.. and if so.. do they exist? (I know Albert started a group buy on one, but I don't know if that will be built...)
7MGTE
1000 cc ID injectors
SP6265 Turbo
3" exhaust
Stock head and intake
Denso MKIV fuel pump
AEM AFPR (Drift motion kit)...
lol.. special is an interesting way to describe it. My good friend Tjorbian has family heirloom silver shot glasses (he passed last month) and we would have a shot everytime we met, so I associate it with his excellent friendship. It is a vile tasting brew.. lol but very unique. Of course he...
My son-in-law is Swedish.. have been meeting a lot of Swedes lately. Excellent people.
I have had to drink a lot of Baska Droppar whenever I visit them... its an acquired taste... skoʊl!
The clips slide under the trim. I used a razor blade to lift the plastic slightly. If your careful, it just slides in nice and cleanly. You just have to mark where they go prior to putting them on.
I would actually guess the torque to be higher than what your showing on the graph. I find the 7M usually gets about 10-15% more torque than HP at the wheels.
Mind you.. the gap is better at 3000 RPM... looks like the car pulls hard : )
ez...
There are 4 clips.. 2 up and 1 each side with 8 screws. You just slide under the trim and double tape to the glass. Hangs on great if you use double sided tape on ALL clips... lol. I didn't tape my sides and a tail wind flipped it off my car while it was parked. Took me about 20 minutes...
Good reads. I wondered if the diffuser was more aesthetics as opposed to function. Not really enough for the way I drive, but can see a use for it. I would have to get one to see if it aided in how I drive. Wasn't aware that side skirts can also play a part.
Wondering if anyone knows if there is a place to get a patch cable that will go from a 1988 7MGTE Harness to a 1990 7MGTE Manual ECU. Or will I have to change the whole harness?
Its the plugs that cause the issue because the 88 is the yellow plug and the 90 ecu is the grey plug (I think I...
I'll hammer Reg on that when I go talk to him about my stand alone. See if he can explain it to me better. He's more engineer than mechanic so the explanations are sometimes really quick but above my pay grade... Lol
The bup would be found in the idle control portion of the ECU (it only happens during idle), but again, I cant back that up with solid evidence, so I dislike talking about it.. lol.
yeah, originally I thought so to, but after talking with Reg Reimer he explained that the engineers put a code in the ECU to do the little bup (you can hear it in the exhaust best) as a diagnostic. The ecu expects to see it. It isn't really a misfire and you can only barely discern it. But if...
