Oil on your wires will do do this. Right now I just pulled my motor out I have oil filled to the top of each galley. I just bought this car about 5 days ago and took out the wires, and the car ran fine. Check all of your grounds.

I would check the wire first, a lot of times these old brittle sensors seem to fall off time to time. Sometimes I have even forgot to re-connect it. If you get a new sensor and the problem still exists you need to check into the wiring, maybe even the cluster, But I highly doubt your cluster...

Correction, it will work for you, with some work done to it. The harnesses differ 3 different times fro the Turbo Supra's. '87-88, Some early '89's Yellow plug '89-90 Gray plug, '91-92 Still Gray plug but wires are in different locations, plugs will not fit each other correctly. So will...

Sadly I have never had this problem. I check everything before I start the car, and then everything is great.

A boost leak at idle shouldn't let your car stall. I have had inter cooler pipes off before and the car did not stall. I don't think at idle a boost leak will do this. I would check connectors, vacuum lines, any codes? This is from personal experience with my Supra's.

I am doing that right now! it will throw a code. I am taking the motor out this weekend, or next and putting all new gaskets on it, and also cleaning the motor to death! First Ill do a compression test though. This is my daily driver so time is essential.
