Alright. I have a '89 Supra, I am going to have the bottom end rebuilt.
I am goign to order Stock 7m-gte pistons, rings, bearings. I need to know a couple fo things.
What MHG should I buy, as in mm, brand? I am having the block decked, and the head resurfaced fro a MHG.
I also am using...
To start if you would look over everything you typed before you push post reply, that would be great. This is not AIM.
Did you torque your lug nuts?
Is there a hollowing sound when you turn? Wheel bearing possibly. You also never said if the sound is coming from the front or the back.
I...
Alright well I have '89 Supra Turbo. I got the car and wow there si oil everywhere on it, and I can't stand having a messy engine ( sorry ) Anyhow it is now pulled out, I hate having to do it by myself but sometimes there is no one around, but it went well.
I bought a full engine gasket kit...
What are you asking? Are you asking if the oil is hurting everything?
It is not. It's not good you have it in there really, I prefer not to have it in there.
I would like to point out when we say " grounds " that means more than one.
There are grounds you can't see. A few examples, there is one on the intake manifold, one from the coil packs to the head. One of the transmission to the body, one in the rear of the car near the tail lights, battery...
Oil on your wires will do do this. Right now I just pulled my motor out I have oil filled to the top of each galley. I just bought this car about 5 days ago and took out the wires, and the car ran fine.
Check all of your grounds.
Well I will weld in a plate I think. I don't really want sunroof anyhow. I am pissed there is already one in there, morons thought it would be nice, to bad the glass sunroofs look like shit.
Okay everyone. I have a '89 Supra hardtop. Sadly.. when the car was sold off the lot in '89 the dealership put a sunroof in. It's the glass one, and it's ugly.
I am going to have it taken out and welded to be back to normal, or I am going to install my '92 Teal Sunroof in there. I am...
I would check the wire first, a lot of times these old brittle sensors seem to fall off time to time. Sometimes I have even forgot to re-connect it.
If you get a new sensor and the problem still exists you need to check into the wiring, maybe even the cluster, But I highly doubt your cluster...
I didn't get a code until min died as well, and as soon as they go, they go! Lucky me I had a guy down the street that had a Turbo Supra so I Used his to test weather or not mine was broken.
Lol idiots... they're for real?
Also your avatar always makes me think our car is lift in the front or on jack stands!
Not bad I am just saying what I think.
Correction, it will work for you, with some work done to it.
The harnesses differ 3 different times fro the Turbo Supra's.
'87-88, Some early '89's Yellow plug
'89-90 Gray plug,
'91-92 Still Gray plug but wires are in different locations, plugs will not fit each other correctly.
So will...
A boost leak at idle shouldn't let your car stall. I have had inter cooler pipes off before and the car did not stall.
I don't think at idle a boost leak will do this.
I would check connectors, vacuum lines, any codes?
This is from personal experience with my Supra's.
I am doing that right now!
it will throw a code.
I am taking the motor out this weekend, or next and putting all new gaskets on it, and also cleaning the motor to death!
First Ill do a compression test though.
This is my daily driver so time is essential.
