Kurt, Yes the vents, (I have my flame suit on :biglaugh: ) I will get some better pics for ya tomorrow. Once the car is done they should fit in. I was trying to come up with ways to get the heat out from under the hood, this was one idea. I molded them out of fiberglass. daledoe: Thanks.

They will use their own equipment, But they will make the changes to the map in your piggy back.

You need to do a lot of research on what is going on with engine management, way to much info there for one thread to cover. Also talk with the guys at your shop that will be tuning it for you, let them know you want to learn, I'm sure if they are not asses, they will walk you through what they...

You would have to buy some sort of a data logger. That is why it is a good practice to buy for "future", saves you money in the long run.

Like we have said before, the AF gauge that reads your stock o2 sensor is useless for watching AFR. Under power, the stock o2 is not even used by the ECU. so whats the point of seeing what it is doing? Under power is when you will start melting your pistons if you are lean, you want to...

It would be "needed" just like a temp, oil psi, boost gauge, ect. To keep an eye on what is going on. Just because you have it tuned, doesn't mean the motor will run perfect from there on out. Just the same way as you wouldn't do an oil change and then not check the dip stick for the next...

It would not be needed per say in that case, but you would be fine with the AEM, seeing as you will not be tuning it yourself. And it would be a good idea to run one just to keep an eye on you AFR. EDIT: also Innovate also makes the LC-1 add to that their gauge and you would have a very...

The LM-1 is not a piggy back. It is the WB o2 controller and data logger. I will be going with a Maft-pro after the motor is nice and run in. I didn't know the Maftpro did logging, thanks. That should help people out picking out a WB controller.

If you are taking it to a shop to have it tuned, they will have all the monitoring equipment needed to tune with.

From what I've read the AEM 6 in 1, is just a basic gauge + o2 sensor controller. This will not allow you to data log, this is really a necessity in order to tune properly. You need to see the graph of what is going on and not just have a nice flashy gauge. The AEM is fine IF you have other...

Yeah Joel, the difference between a stand alone and a piggy back is, a piggy back taps into the stock ECU to be able to over ride some of the ECUs functions. A stand alone totally replaces the stock ECU.

Joel, here is a simple break down on what is going on, If I leave any thing out I will have to clarify tomorrow. In order to run more boost safely you need to take control over your ECU, so that you can tell it (or trick it) to add or take away fuel. In order to do this you need a piggy back...

Not sure what you are asking, if you are not needing to tune, you don't need the wideband. And the "best" all depends on your set up. If your piggy back or stand alone does not have data logging, look for a WB kit that has data logging. I like the LM-1, it is able to "grow" with you, and...
