Sorry my friend I told you to check your ACIS thru the rectangle cover on your intake, not clean out the AFM with carb cleaner, I know better than that from what I've read here on the forum. Check your PM messages that I sent you.
Sorry if you misunderstood, I assumed that you understood...
I had 132,000 before doing anything to mine and the HG was fine, but I also wasn't driving it to redline and clutch drops. Want to make it last then treat it with some respect.
Granted, if it can be worked out to be a safe and easy mod, I mean if shaving the head would get you 20 more ponies at the wheels, it would be a fairly easy mod if like most have to do a HG job why not. You should get the head surfaced anyway to do a HG, why not shave it a little. But if all you...
Sounds like a lot of "ifs" and "maybes". I think I'd go the safe route and get different pistons to increase the compression ratio. That's what I did. If you are looking at a few HP to take a chance like that IDK. Just my opinion.:)
I would check it as it could be your problem, also have you checked the spark plug gap, needs to be checked even with new plugs before you install them. Check your rotor and distributor cap, clean your intake after the TB as it gets gummed up with PVC crap. Another thing referred to as "tune-up"...
Don't think the pipe can get porous. Have you checked the connections on the TPS and calibrated it? If you think it's a vac leak, you should get a gauge to check it.
Yes & yes.
SAFC would make it easier to tune, don't think you'd need bigger injectors. You could use a FP controler and bump up the pressure, if that's the only mods you've done. If you go to boring, bigger cams etc, you'd need bigger injectors.
If you are autocrossing then you will burn a little, redlining, etc, normally you will even on a somewhat fresh motor. I used to do some autoxing, and the same thing happened. I've done some running at Sebring and always bring a couple of extra quarts. That's not normal driving on the street...
Have you set it with a timing light? Are you sure about all the marks lining up, cam gears, crank @"0", #1 at TDC, and rotor pointing at #1? After all that you set the timing with a light.
Well I can drive it in "silent" mode when I see a cop, you just feather the gas a little and I can make it sound like a Caddy:)
If I drive it normal it's not too bad, just when I go any were close to 1/4 throttle it starts to get a little loud. full throttle sure doesn't sound like a 7M:naughty:
