Cleaning out the MAF flap

So I took off my MAF today to attempt to clean the gunk out of the plate if there was any, and I ran into trouble.

The screws that hold the plate on were rather dirty so I gave them a thorough cleaning as well as the whole MAF body, only to notice this gummy/hot glue like substance that had oozed up and dried beneath the plate. It was also coming from the 3 or 4 screws on the center of the plate and it seemed to fill in the screwhead and surroundings.

I took a few pictures of the MAF and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on a way to get them out? (the screws)

The red is the gunk surrounding the plate, and the blue are the screws in which the gunk seemed to have oozed through.

Cool. You had better ask someone here before you go into that task.
I would ask someone that I knew they would know for sure.

Sorry my friend I told you to check your ACIS thru the rectangle cover on your intake, not clean out the AFM with carb cleaner, I know better than that from what I've read here on the forum. Check your PM messages that I sent you.

Sorry if you misunderstood, I assumed that you understood what a ACIS was and I also told you to check the TSRM as it explained how to check it.
