Today, I realized that my Supra has been on jackstands for over two and a half years, and that the rust/underbody damage is too substantial to bother with this chassis. FML.
I was told the following by an 80 year old mechanic who's retired. It's NOT suggested for use on aluminum, but it worked like an absolute charm on my brother's pickup.
He has an f-350, and the exhaust manifold studs were so ridiculously frozen in the heads, nothing we did could get them out...
I never liked the style of the rx-8. I've never driven one, or even been in one. Therefore, I can't tell you anything else about them except that when they first came out, a car magazine (Car & Driver?) called it: "The Angry Guppy" LOL.
In all honesty, as easy as it is to pull one of these motors, I'd pull it again and get rid of that cork gasket. I wouldn't trust the cork as far as I can spit. There's a reason Toyota doesn't use them from the factory. ;)
If I can find it, I have a pic of the MKIII front end on the MKIV. I'm sure it's likely to be a photoshop, but it looks cleanly done.
As Supracentral stated, very few things can be swapped between the two models and look decent.
I'd check, but the one of the things that I despise about BF.c is that the "server is too busy, try again later" or any other stupid message that prevents me from viewing the site. I swear, it's like the Supraforums of BMW's sometimes. LOL.
I'm not saying it's a worth-while modification, or if it's simply the placebo effect. I honestly don't know enough about our chassis to say either, but here's a review by one of our very own on the do-luck RXB:
