whats even more interesting is this post by jtamulis...
I had not seen THAT particular thread but had seen the others where he talked about porting the wastegate and fixing the problem. my car is warm right now, Im going to try to move the flapper. brb.
Just tried the 4500rpm test....
my fuel cut problems happens between 5000-5400 rpm when Im at WOT depending on gear. I was mistaken by the 4500rpm. then again, its a pretty warm day today...
so, I tried going 3/4 throttle until 5000, then WOT and it hits fuel cut at about 5500rpm.
tried...
yeah, I have atleast a grand in head/wall banging by now. :)
Ive gone through 4 cans of carb cleaner doing that... and they were the 25% extra free cans too.
Ive gone over 90% of the wiring in the car to make sure there were no loose or cracked wires rubbing, I probably would have noticed...
Im willing to go this route if I can determine that the car is acting as it should and theres nothing "wrong." The flapping wastegate test today should tell me this I hope. Obviously Id rather get a standalone, but if the SAFC will work and prove to me that this theory is right then it will be...
Nick, I apologize if I came off dickish, that wasnt my intent at all. I think you (and some others) may be right. so I will check with the wastegate flapper open today and see what I get, this should be pretty interesting. It may be time to upgrade to a standalone, but again I want to know thats...
my actuator has an adjustable shaft and I lentgthened it yesterday trying to lower boost. RIGHT NOW the flapper door is actually open by an RCH. I will try your suggestion tomorrow though. Im willing to try most anything to fix this thing at the moment.
just ran with the stock AFM, and it spools alot slower and hits fuel cut at 8psi. so its not that.
Also, its worth noting that this car has run rich ever since I removed the emissions equipment long before I had fuelcut issues.
How did you eventually solve the problem on your setup?
The car...
just tried the three tests mentioned above and...
passed the fuelcut test
passed the AFM test
passed the closedthrottle and WOT TPS tests. I dont have feeler gauges here, so I will try those tomorrow or over the weekend.
I also tested my original AFM and it showed almost identical numbers...
I can borrow a known good AFM and try it.
Im using Tbolts and 5 ply silicon with aluminum and titanium pipes. There is one spot where I am using worm clamps because the t-bolts were causing a leak, worms are sealing fine on last boost leak test.
Ill be out there in 5 minutes running all of...
ENGINE CODES:
checked codes...
34 - turbo pressure too high
42 - no speed signal (my speedo)
43 - no sta signal (this confuses me)
51 - cant find this code anywhere and cant search for it.
correct I have tried this even in attempts to move fuel cut higher and it doesnt seem to do much. (using the capped port that was for the original BOV)
I will up the pressure on my next test.
what do you guys think about the possibility of my wastegate diaphragm in the actuator being damaged? I cant actually inspect it so Im considering ordering a new one and trying that next.
for reference, here is a 62-1 compressor map.
http://www.turbocharged.com/catalog/compmaps/fig10.html
mine is a hifi which is supposed to flow 5% less. unfortunately I have not been able to find a hifi compressor map. Probably because they now only make a 60-1 hifi (or so Ive been told)
Responses:
-The EGR is properly bypassed and properly sealed.
-I have no wideband installed or narrowband a/f gauge.
-Rich enough that it looks alarmingly like a diesel at WOT. (sorry guys but I have a port for the wideband, just have been holding cash to solve this problem first)
-I...
