I would e-mail or call suprasport.com and ask them if they have any information on it. Their BOSS series turbos are "bolt-on."

And, if available, use a torque plate.

Are you sure you don't have a vacuum leak? That would cause your car to run rich resulting in your backfiring. How many miles are on the motor? It's not uncommon for higher mileage motors to have bad valve seals. That will cause you to burn oil, which is what you could be smelling and seeing...

Exhaust leaks? Backfire? Burning oil (valve seals?), BHG burning coolant? Is the pop like a grinding metal/metal pop or an explosion pop, like a backfire? What does it smell like?

Take off the J-tube and rotate the crank, the stamp is easily seen through there if it is a 6M crank.
