I've driven a Supra w/ R154 and SOGI modded shifter (undampened) and it felt smooth. I've driven AE86's with their T50's that were more notchy than a R154 It depends on the transmission, how it was driven in the past, user preference/sensitivity, etc

Rob... you need the splash guards The engine undercover helps to keep the engine cool because it keeps the air coming through the front grill going to the radiator. if the guard is not there, the air goes through the grill but then just sucks down underneath the car. with that guard in place...

that exhaust can looks a whole lot like the Sheepdog I have on my car. Sounds good!

Holset HX35 or HY35 will do that too, and you can use it on the stock manifold with the use of a CT26 - T3 adapter (can find on ebay). All you need to sort out after that is downpipe, fuel, brakes, engine management, and probably would be a good idea to upgrade your intercooler setup you...

if the rebuild is fresh you need to break it in... let the synchros and gears, shift forks, etc all wear into each other so that it's a little more smooth. the transmission is going to be naturally notchy though as it's a R series transmission, most of which were used in trucks IIRC... but yes...
