More than likely 20+ years of blowby oil sitting in the low point of the IC, you give it a rev to 5K and it's enough to pull some through and cause the smoke,, dunno why you guys always default to the expensive shit to repair without checking the basics first..
Would be cool to do it again and see if the bias has shifted after the mods!
Never got around to it with mine but when it had the LS/T I'm pretty sure with a full 115L tank it would have been close to 50/50 and made a HUGE difference to turn in.
That's what "resizing" is, the grind the partline of the cap making the hole smaller than stock then bore/hone it back to spec.
They will also check the small end bush and make sure it is round and within tolerence.
