One other question, ive been using straight 10w30 dino oil since my headgasket (at 155,000) and i was wondering when/how should i switch to synthetic? Should i just go full synthetic or should i use a blend then go full synthetic? When my metal headgasket was done the head was cleaned up, a few...
I live in central ohio, (to get an indea of temps etc), and ive been using 10w30 oil, and im about to do an oil changed and i asked my friend who has a mk3 also, and he says he runs 15w50 and that i use wayyyy to thin of oil. I couldn't go off of just one person so i took it to the internets...
Wasn't the nut under the rubber piece @ the top of the mount. I also tried to shake the car but i couldnt hear anything. Im gonna have to wait till the weekend or something before i can get time to pull the tire off and check things out.
Grimjack, will i be able to feel it if its the top strut mount? Also, i only get the knock when hitting uneven surfaces (cant say speedbumps cause i crawl over those) in the road, and random potholes n shit. well not potholes, but yeah. i cant even really get it to make the noise swurving left...
If it is my mount, how would i determine its that and not the shock without pulling it out? Even after that, only way i know how to test the strut/shock whatever u wanna call it is by seeing if you can push it in by hand, or how much force it takes. But yeah, how do i test my strut mounts...
I was actually going to just re-use the stock mounts, if thats possible.
and on the edit: if i got coil-overs id get tein ss's and they reuse the stock mounts.
I just dont really have the money for coil overs. I make 10$ an hour, 30hrs a week. It takes a lotta time to save up. I was just thinking Tokicos or Koni shocks/struts whatever with eibach springs. Should be less than 600$ or around. I just cant really to afford to double how much i was looking...
In MEXICO!!! I had my car up to 145 mph, stock everything except intake and exhaust. Felt pretty good, was on a slight downhill straight away, then slight uphill. Automatic and still felt like it had pull, i backed off cause i don't have a rear swaybar.
One of my struts is starting to go out, i can hear it knock when i hit bumps, so i plan on doing a new suspenshion. I cant afford coil overs at all so im trying to debate what setup to go with. Tokico struts, Bilstein struts, Koni struts are a bit expensive. But then what springs? Eibach...
Woops, didn't know i didnt post the picture of the idle set screw. I wouldn't doubt it if the guy who owned the car before me messed with it because he was a gearhead. I was going to adjust everything back to TSRM Specs.
Engine Bay

I hope this video can really get me going on the right direction.
I was doing 300 a week for work alone, and then weekend driving is normally another 2-300. I used to average about 500 miles a week id say. Not anymore now that im fired though hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
What do you mean run off? The car idles fine. Im still using the stock bov. I have not tested the ISC's resistance yet, im going to be doing that tomorrow. Tomorrow im going to follow the line to the tb that you were talknig about, plug that off. Drive around and test it, and if it happens start...
