refer to earlier posts. I had a buddy that did this. DID NOT TURN OUT WELL
so you were present when I've done it multiple times in the past? oh, wait you weren't, otherwise you wouldn't be talking ignorantly about events that have already occurred multiple times.
yes, I said it, thank...
jesus christ you guys are makin my head hurt. I don't have time to read all this right now. gonna have to save it for a later date. Lots of good info here advising me not to get rid of my ABS. Sorry, I don't panic in emergencies (my mom was a terrible driver I've been in far too many...
my 89 had tired suspension too, but was worlds away from that 87... the 87 would body roll into next week... crazy. I know it was because of the springs w/ 230k miles on them... so no one in here has bilsteins? I've always liked their product. and I don't mind shelling out more $ for...
kybs were real soft on my 87.... then again it had springs w/ 230k miles... so I have no idea. shocks were new, installed by previous owner. that car had body roll like IDK what.... somethin crazy, that's for sure.
all good points... sounds like a real bad case of bad luck for anyone thrown into a tight space with loose sand on the road. I'm glad abs saved your car, and while I appreciate that. I would personally like to take a bit of risk in trade-off for more driving enjoyment.
You do have a really...
Which one? My car has TEMS (first mk3 out of 5 to have it) but after reading that it adjusts it's-self on the fly, that doesn't really sit well with me. I was going to go with the TEMS compatible tokicos, but now I'm leaning towards ditching the TEMS. Anyhow... let's hear some input.
also should note that the roads here are pretty nice, and I see almost no winter driving (think ice or snow) although it would be driven almost every single day, same as all of my other cars. BTW I've been driving a corolla for several yeas now without abs, and I've locked up my tires plenty...
single turbo rb's sound like pure sex as well... OT, I know (._.)
but yes I do miss getting compliments on my car... even though the one in my mind was my 100% stock bright red 89 turbo. rollin '92 wheels. I got a lot of comments on how well kept it was.
not my bag of chips... I just love mid-range torque. that is all. for me pure sex occurs at cruising rpms w/ the setup I mentioned.
this, but choosing a good muffler too, makes it sound all smooth and sexy... just running a straight pipe WILL make your interior fall apart LOL... my next...
I know... you're just trying to save another mk3 (or driver) from biting the dust... but I'm extremely particular on this; I have a burning hatred for ABS
yeah... there is this thing called limit of adhesion... you can still steer while braking... in fact that's actually a little bit of a specialty of mine... each person has their own driving style. It sounds idiotic, but mine tends to be at the limit of traction. And I like to brake late as...
not the guy to get advice from... but the way I look at it... the supra is totally over-engineered can you say that about a rustang? how much R&D do you think the ford had in comparison to the toyota? All in all the only weakpoint I can find on the toyota is the head bolt torque specs (turbo...
TBH I've had a car with ABS, and one without... both mk3's... I HATE ABS... the one I had w/ out it (stolen 5 yrs ago, never recovered) braked PERFECTLY
To go even further I would wager that the ABS was so bad that it makes braking worse. Sure, there are extenuating circumstances... but...
