In 5th gear, at 45mph I'm at 2k RPMs, at 65mph = 3k RPMs, at 75 = ~3500
4.30 is good for around town, but sucks for any sort of cruising speeds as you watch your gas needle become a reverse boost gauge :/
It's easier to pull the motor.
Support the engine/raise as much as you can. drop the subframe several inches. you now have very little room to work. plastigaging the journals for clearances is always fun down there.
I changed mine about 500 miles ago when I built little to no oil pressure and...
take the cat off and see if the smell goes away. usually a rotten egg or sour fuel smell is due to a failing cat. The reason it'd do it more under boost is because the computer dumps more fuel, and the boost pressure increases EGT's. The combination super heats the cat and makes it stink worse.
haha same shit here. I thought it was the turbo drain so I changed that gasket. Then thought oil filter o-ring so I cleaned the mating surface and changed gaskets, didn't work. Then figured it must be the plate. Changed gasket + used RTV on the gasket surfaces and it sealed it up nice and solid.
Another way to twincharge would be using a centrifugal S/C kind of like the Procharger units. Have that feed into the intercooler, as well as the turbo, then have one larger pipe going to the throttle body. That way you're not pushing compressed air into a compressor and air can flow more...

I DID...
Sweet so all of my leaks are fixed, I've got it running on the GTE harness with no knock code anymore thanks to a KS rewire kit that SupraofDoom had laying around.
Now I need to fix an exhaust leak. Leaking where the DP meets the turbo, causing the O2 to read lean and dump fuel. That's why it...
