I'd bet on it being Toyota.. The 86 was slated to be a Toyota stateside, but Scion needed a new edge and something to up sales. It still remains their young, entry-level brand though..
Now that has occurred, you have Toyota/Lexus, with Toyota being the one that needs a new halo car. Lexus...
It really depends.. at my friends shop, we used to have a guy that would come by all the time to use the TIG to fix cracked heads and other stuff, and generally it worked out just fine. either way, you need to remove it and have someone that knows what's up look at it.
I'd probably just get a...
The market adjusted price is 84k for what a '98 JZA80 would cost today.. so, I'd expect every bit of that price, especially considering how the price of the R35 continually rises (96k now compared to the original 75k).
I love the skeptics in this thread, and oddly enough because I am usually...
In that case, mine were probably improperly installed before I ended up replacing the clutch. the snap rings were a bit bent, and the wave washer allowed too much play.
the chief engineer/chief test driver of the LF-A project was Hiromu Naruse, and yeah he worked on so many Toyota projects.. that was truly a sad day.
I actually meant to post that link, not the AutoGuide one because it adds a lot more information.. They were both posted on my car culture page...
thanks man. I'm not a big fan of the pignose (or that name for that matter lol), but I want to modernize the car more.
and like I said, the majority of my car is 89+ with a bunch of '91/TT-R parts too, so it seems odd to keep the pre89 style front even though I really love it.
there are valid points there as well.. perhaps Tada should not be the lead, but it should instead be left to the man that helped design the A70/A80, Chaser, and IS-F: Yukihiko Yaguchi, a man with no issues N/A or forced inducted.
I tend to agree with the LF-A comment too, but the issue on that...
to my knowledge, none of the kits come with that..
AFAIK, you should rarely if ever have to change the hub out. the clips however would be a good idea to replace each time you do a clutch job because they tend to get bent and lose their tension (happened on mine, but no telling how many times...
The original 86/Trueno was not a turbo car. Tada is against turbocharging at least in the sense that many wanted the FR-S/86/BRZ to come with forced induction for higher numbers, but he wanted it to remain N/A like the original. He was also against using the Subaru motor and components as he...
I don't think there is enough evidence that he was necessarily expecting a different result, hence I'll stick with the former. It could go either way though; perhaps he is retarded and insane (one in the same?).
really sorry to hear this man :(
I lost my last car in a different fashion, but it was pretty much destroyed to the same level or worse, and I couldn't bring myself to buy another to replace it.. I wish you the best.
whoops, I messed with the hosting folder earlier.. I have a pic of the tore up lip, but there's not much point in posting it.
here's what was posted on the last page:
my rack, pretty sure it's original, actually feels great until you go above about 80mph.. after that it gets really light and honestly scary as hell, and I always figured that's why they ended up adding PPS.
personally, I'm gonna do the PPS rack in my car and have a standalone control the valve.
