no it reads off the manifold. there is a nipple on the side of the manifold, near the back of the engine bay that feeds pressure to all the different items that need it, like the boost sensor. based upon this question id guess you dont quite know you way around the motor remember though, 2.5...

update: cleared the codes, still idles awkward, and now when im driving, if i disengage the clutch it will sometimes idle fine, or just die. i dont have a thickness gauge so i cant test the tps or the second part of the isc test. im planning on purchasing a set this week. time to do some more...
